I think that you must have not made a dark and light version of the pic, then over lapped them and such.

I think you missed the resizing step.

You also skipped a step.
You need two versions of the original pic, a light and a dark.
Then take the lines and put them on top of one, make the lines transparent, then copy and paste over the other.

On the color tool bar I select blue (I tried all of the shades of it and they all came out the same) and put the brush tool on(this is on both programs) and I painted on the canvas. The color is always the same shade of grey.

Dalton: You missed a step that time. Open up the file in paint again, and zoom in on it. See that checkerboard effect? That means you messed it up. I assume what happened is that you either skipped the resizing step, or you made the pattern twice as big as well. See if you can figure out which step it was.

Hawke: No, sorry, not right. When it looks like that, it means you messed up the step where you put the light version on top of the dark one. When you go to move the image, remember to right click on yellow, and then check the option that makes the secondary color invisible. (Sorry, am I making sense?)

Twilight - I'm gonna agree with Mini on this one, we need a screenshot. (Do you know how to get a screenshot?)

Okay, im going to re-make it and see if its better.

I made another overlay for the Sig of the Week, is this good?
I used GIMP for the smoke, but thats it.

4. Simple Gif animations, Png animations, and all the banners on the left side of my sig, as well as my avatar. (I used an outside pixle-based program for the gradients however.)

I can do basic lighting effects, like gleaming, but I would like to know scanlines, antialiasing techniques (if there are any), image overlaying, and if there is any way to produce an alpha channle value (I always use png for the quality and for the alpha channle). That and anything else you can teach me!

9. I have the button and know where it is. I've never used it b/c I have a screenshot tool that allows me to select any portion of my screen for the screenshot (it saves as png by default).

I really couldn't find a good pic of Oni, and Definately couldn't find a signature worthy picture of DarkLink that wasn't already in a signature.
