Re: Dog Dog 123's Homeroom (MSPaint)
Mini-Link - Unfortunately, no, it didn't turn out right. If you look, you can still see the checkerboard pattern on it. Which means one of two things.
1. You didn't resize anything before sliding stuff back and forth to apply the pattern. 2. You resized the two images AND the pattern, rather then just the one. These both have the same checkerboard effect in the end, and it's unfortunately not what you're going for. If you zoom in on that piece, you can see that the pictures are still seperate. You have half the pixels from one and half from the other. Now, zoom in on the example from that thread. You can't see a checkerboard. Each pixel is actually half the color of each picture. Could it be either of those two problems? 3B: Quote:
Uh, current problem, cut closer to the image. Right now there's a big black blob. That big black blob will still be there when you put it in with the other image, and it probably won't look too good. Try cutting closer. And did you try to resize, put in Word, resize, and then put it back in Paint? The hard edges along the logo look like you just used Paint. Quote:

1. Undo now holds up to 10 steps. Much more helpful. 2. When you use resize to make a picture bigger, either copy (ctrl+c) or drop the picture on the form and then reselect it. If you make a selection bigger and then move it, it crops the picture down to the size it was before resizing. Pretty much, it cuts off three fourths of the picture. Quote:

2. I found the solution to that. Click away from it before moving it, then reselect it. It only crops when you try to move it. |

Ok! Sorry if i make you feel bad because I'm doing these so fast.
I've worked with MSPaint for a while so I know the basics. These are just little tips and hints for me. |

Re: Dog Dog 123's Homeroom (MSPaint)
Flavoi - Don't worry, I know how that is. Whenever you get around to it, that's good.
Last assignment: Post #19. Mini-Link - Good job, now it looks right. However, you didn't go along the edges carefully enough. For the red logo, you need to cut closer to the edges, otherwise you get white specks along the edges. (I believe the generally used incorrect term for cuttings things out is render.) Generally the fastest way to check this is to change the color behind it. Two ways to do that: 1. Select different color. If the background had been white, paint it black. 2. Draw a big black square. Set the secondary color to white. Select the picture using the Select tool. Click the transperant option, then drag it over the square. Then the color will be different and you don't have to paint all the little holes. Then look to see which spots don't blend. Get rid of all the white spots. This will give the final piece a more fluid look. So, (surprise surprise!) try again, and cut the edges closer. You don't have to do both opacity and smooth edges for it, just go ahead and pick one.

1. Did you make the background white, then put it in word, then move it back? 2. Did you make the background white, then resize the picture? 3. Did you save the picture at .jpg or something like that? Flavoi - Last assignment in post #19.

Re: Dog Dog 123's Homeroom (MSPaint)
I figured it out. Notice how the white spots aren't on the out side edge of it?
The only places were the white spots are, are the places closed in by the red. So when I changed the background, I didn't change the inside. |

EDIT: Deleted it. If you want to see it, ask Is there a better way? |

Re: Dog Dog 123's Homeroom (MSPaint)
Mini-Link - Sorry, didn't mean to ignore you. Got caught up in things. Anyways...
Yes, overlaying looks perfect. As for the second one, the edges didn't smooth when you resized it? You doubled it in Paint, then put it in Word, then used print screen to move it back? Are you sure you didn't skip a step? And if you resized one of them in the wrong program, that might've caused a problem. Flavoi - No, it's supposed to look like that. If you try to copy/paste out of Word, the colors get all funky. And it looks bad. So yeah, you were doing it right. By the way, when the picture is in word, be careful not to resize it. If you drag the corners of the box at all then it won't line up correctly when you go back to Paint.

Re: Dog Dog 123's Homeroom (MSPaint)
may I ask why it is necessary to have MS word?
I don't have it at home, but I have it on most of the computers at my work. would I be able to get by with using MS word as need be on my work computers, or will I need it a lot? also, keep in mind I can't download any programs onto the work computers. I'm thinking about joining the class but I'm still trying to decide.

But generally for the things that require resizing, it's only at the end that you need Word. So if you did want to join, you could stick it in the program at work, resize, and be done fairly quickly. (Oh, and don't worry about not being able to download programs. That's kinda what this is based around. Paint, and other common comp. programs.) Mini-Link - Post #36. Flavoi - What's wrong with it? What's not working?
