I'm awesome.

This is a basic signature making class. You want to learn how to make signatures or how to develop your own style? You're welcome here. You want to learn to make layouts for sites? Go somewhere else, sorry. Not trying to sound mean or anything, haha, but I don't really know how to do much of that stuff. I can teach you to make signatures, banners, transparent things, pentooling...whatever pertains to Photoshop, really. Here's the application:

And as such, I have an assignment!

Like first time, I just want you to make a normal signature using whatever you want so I can re-assess your abilities and go from where I was. Just make it normal, like you'd normally make one.

Hokayhokay. Well, I like it. Render is nice and high quality, that's good. The right is a little bright, iunno what happened there, maybe tone it down a bit. Text could go, it's kinda superfluous and, well, unneeded, though it doesn't look THAT bad (though try to avoid gradient strokes; they signal disaster, at least for me). The background is pretty nice, and it matches the render enough. Maybe tone down the gaussian blur set to lighten (if there is, which it kinda looks like). No real depth, and the white splotches in the background are a little weird. Great border, matches perfectly.

Hmm. I love the symbol in the middle. However, I feel it's really, really monotone, because all there is is that cyan blue and, despite the fact that I like that colour, its ALL that colour. I think some purples or greens mixed in there would do it good, or both! The lines are a nice touch, though, the border is pretty good, too. The background is...okay, I guess. It's just kind of a meh signature. I've seen you do better. :>

Well, I actually like it a bit better, but it seems like the purples kinda messed up, haha. Sure, I'll make a tutorial on my current signature.

Is this any better? Not so sure about the blue layer set to lighten, but meh. Stock, effects, render, lighting, border. I need originality.

Okay, I have an assignment, just to see what you guys are capable of doing in MY style.

Go register at stock.xchng - the leading free stock photography site. They're one of my favorite stock sites EVER. After you've registered, look around in their image categories and find some images, and make a signature ONLY from those images. You may use five filters MAX, you can use pentooling, you can use any tool you want from the toolbar, but only 5 filters and only those images.

Well, it's very simple, I'll give you that. The render looks really weird, as though he's been motion blurred and his eyes were left out. A little simple, kinda too simple for criticism.
