A Gradient Map? I made another layer and added a Gradient too it, and then set it to Lighten, but it didn't change anything. Am I doing something wrong?

I have Photoshop 7.0, btw.

Alrighty, I can help ya, and for everyone who doesn't understand gradients, LISTEN UP!!!

Gradient lesson:
1. Make a new layer on top of everything.
2. Select this:
3. Once its up, select "Gradient Map."
4. Then choose whatever colors it asks you to pick or pick one on your own. The most common ones are B&W and the Violet/Orange one.
5. Then you should be able to set it to whatever you need: overlay or lighten or plain, etc etc; Experiment.

And upon finsihing, I added my own little twists to things.. like the type of brush I used and all that. And I didn't complete the last couple of steps.. but I think it turned out rather well. ^__^

Wow, that turned out VERY well!! I like the flowery look in the background. It might be a little too black and white, maybe add some color back into it. I'm not sure what you did, but the overall quality of the render went down, pixel wise. It looks rusty, but thats ok. Its a style all your own. I like it! I hope you learned some things for your future sig making experience.


Also, STUDENTS: I have added better and in ENGLISH GIMP tutorials, so if you haven't made your second assignments yet, please feel free to use these.

I kind of like the rusty look to it. rofl. I agree with the lack of colour though. Good thing I saved it as a .psd. And you gave me a tip last time about image quality, right? Like.. to save it as a .png? I shall try that, and see the difference. :]

Yeah, always always save as a .png. ^_^

I can see a slight difference, its hard to tell because its such a busy sig. As long as you are happy with it.

Well... I made a new sig, I think it's okay, pretty basic
