Sooo, to see what you know how to do so far, I'd like you to make either a 300x100 size image, or a 300x300 size image, you can choose, I just want to see what you can do. :/

I'll get started on the first assignment soon, by any chance, could it be something we've don already, because I could use my current sig seing as it's the appropriate size plus I made it a couple of hours ago. :/

Then my sig is appropriate for my first assignment, which means I'll be using it.

I figured out how to resize and add text, but adding a border, putting in special effects and deselecting the stupid image that I pasted in is beyond me. I've never used this program before, but I know the basics from Paint Shop Pro. What I need to find out is what all the buttons do <_<.

Okay, I have two questions:

One: Can the graphic be 300x150?

Two: I'm having major transparency problems...I've made a graphic and everything around it is transparent. Many times before have I done this, and I've never had a problem. This time I saved it as a PNG (like I usually do), but it's not showing as transparent. The background becomes whatever BG color I currently have saved on the GIMP. I tried saving it as a GIF, and it comes out as transparent, but the edges get rough. Then I try saving it again as a PNG but it looses its transparency, and the edges are smooth again! It's the most frustrating thing. Do you have any idea why it's doing this? O_o

I've never had that problem. O_< I don't know anything about it.

For borders I just take the little pencil, put it on the smallest brush, then go around the edges with it. It works well.

I give up. I tried everything to get this transparent but I just wouldn't.

The first has a transparent background. Maybe it's your web browser that makes it white?

I'm happy to report that my old computer crashed, and I purchased a Mac.
