That is my nickname too, for most of my signatures.... wierd... anyway, okay. First lesson for both of you is to make anything in Paint. Hopefuly that should tell me what you can do

Forty~ well Im not too good with signatures in Paint. Mainly good with sprites and effects.

nighton~ yeah. I know quite a lot of tutorials on Youtube too... I could Help ya

hmmm... lets start with sprites. All spriters need a good resource.

Sprite definition----sprite sheet

a sprite sheet is basicly a sheet made up of sprites. That one up there is a personal one.

I would like to be your student too. Sorry didnt PM, but was inactive for some days that i thougth you woluldnt be here. Soi got gimp for a few weeks now and i inproved a lot that even i made a banner for a new zelda community heres a link At the bottom of my sig.

Aaron, I would be happy to accept you as a student. What would you like to learn in Gimp? brushes, text, filters? whatever? Oh, and you can try the tut below too, if you like

Grim, well, I can teach you tricks and how to get the best out of effects, but I cant tell you how to make a sig. Except yourself. So then, lets start off. This simple tutorial show help you with filters. It was originaly made for PS, but I am pretty damn sure all of the filters I used are in TG too.

I tried my best, it kinda looks okay.

okay then Aaron. It looks rather good, but You used too many colors I am afraid. Maybe cancelling it down to 2 or 3 colors would make it better.

And Grim, It is good but the ripple stands out waaay too much. Try lowering the opacity or something. To do that, go to your layers window, or open one, and look for where it says opacity or transparency. Then just make it more like 70% or something.

okay, your next lesson is to learn to use brushes. First of all, find some brushes on deviantART: where ART meets application! by searching "GIMP brushes". Find some you like and store them in "Program files->The GIMP-> Share-> brushes". Then make a signature with brushes and filters. You may use a render too if you like
