Your Favourite Plot-Storyline

Please vote for the storyline. Not the gameplay or graphics.
You can choose more than one.
I vote for The Wind Waker and AlttP. Both have a great story/atmosphere. Wind Waker is my favourite Zelda story so far.

Re: Your Favourite Plot-Storyline

I think Wind Waker was my favorite. As much as I wanted to explore Hyrule as land. I thought it played out pretty well. Plus it had a great character basis.

Re: Your Favourite Plot-Storyline

I had to debate between all of them but i chose WindWaker because the flooding was an amazing event and was explained beautifuly through out the game.

Twilight princess however, was very close. Princess Midna's part in the story was an amazing plot-twist.

Re: Your Favourite Plot-Storyline

OoT, because its plot managed to always feel epic, and I cared so much about saving Hyrule and its inhabitants.

Runner up is OoS/OoA. OoS is less interesting on its own, but OoA twisted and turned, and I liked how Veran did not simply wait in her castle while Link gathered up magical trinkets like Onix did, she actually manipulated him throughout the game, and the plot changed as her plans thickened. And the two fitted together nicely.

I'm surprised no one is voting for LA...everybody seem to love the dream-story

Re: Your Favourite Plot-Storyline

I like the storyline of Majora's Mask for some reason, each area you go into seems to have a different story for each race. And then it merges into the dark, freaky storyline.. Pretty cool.

Re: Your Favourite Plot-Storyline

After much thought I went with Ocarina of Time. I was torn between OoT and Wind Waker, but concluded that what I loved most about WW was its references to OoT, and the creative way it did so. I would spend an hour typing if I went into why I love OoT's story, so I will leave it at that, haha. But Wind Waker is right up there with it! They might as well be tied.

Exploring termina was nice. You get to witness and help all these characters as they prepare for the big carneval. This pre-carneval atmosphere is actually quite interesting, and I really wish they would make clocktown a little bigger and with a lot more people. The town is quite small for having such a big carneval and such advanced clock construction. Yes this little town has everything, even a sewer system.

Re: Your Favourite Plot-Storyline

MM and TWW.

MM had a pretty simple, overdone idea, but it was pulled off excellently by all the different characters and their development through the story/sidequests. By the end of the game, you really did care about this world and all these people.

I just love TWW's setting and characters. It's just a tale about a young boy trying to save his little sister and the world, and how he grows throughout the journey. The backstory was great (and a bit sad) and Ganondorf actually seemed like a person in this game, and not just some bland evil guy wanting to take over the world because he wants to take over the world.

TP would come pretty close, but the problem is that the story relies too much on Midna, and if you don't like Midna then it just doesn't go that well for you. Midna's my least favorite character in the series, so it just didn't work for me. The story also had some pacing issues, but it's not that bad.

Re: Your Favourite Plot-Storyline

I think Majora's Mask has the most deepest storyline in it. It is a very meaningful game and even playing it again after 9 years of it's release you can still find new ways to look at it. Although Link's Awakening has a nice story to it as well. They are both very dark games. In MM you have no difficulty of finding that darkness in the story but in LA you have to remember that when the game is through the entire world of the island of Koholint will vanish. I like those games.

Re: Your Favourite Plot-Storyline

I enjoyed MM very much too, but I still prefer a classic storyline in the zelda universe...possibly set in hyrule. MM was great as a stand alone title-almost a spin off to me.

Re: Your Favourite Plot-Storyline

I'm just going to say right away that I hated the dialogue in Ocarina of Time. Sure, the gameplay was amazing, but some of the things Zelda says . . . ugh.

That's why Majora's Mask is my favorite storyline. There are still a few corny, anticlimactic moments in it, but for the most part, the characters were much more complex and likeable.

Also, there was much more mystery added into the story. You had to actually listen to different characters to find out what exactly happened in an area, and piece together the puzzle yourself. In OoT, you could find out most everything by talking to one particular character long enough. Esepecially Zelda/Sheik. Somehow, she seemed to know EVERYTHING. I didn't like that very much.

Wind Waker had a good story too, it just wasn't as original as MM.

TWW had the most developed and complex story, and for that it is my favorite. TP follows closely, there's just something I love about that game.

Re: Your Favourite Plot-Storyline

WW's storyline is the best. It had a big connection feeling to OOT. And how the plot worked out, great. Starting the journey to rescue his little sister from to saving all of Hyrule.

Re: Your Favourite Plot-Storyline

Mm, Ocarina of Time actually has some of the best quotes I've ever read in any piece of literature or type of media. I think I'll use it for my senior quote. I also voted for MM, TWW, TP and of course LA...

Speaking of which, everyone should give LA a good vote or two. No love guys...no love.

Re: Your Favourite Plot-Storyline

Link's Awakening has a lot of depth, and ALttP is by far the most epic

I'm a little disappointed that MM is in third thus far. Either way, it get's my vote.

LA. I thought the story was great, the characters were well developed and the island melting away after you beat the game was the most depressing thing to watch in any video game I've ever played.

I think I would've liked LA better if it didn't take me six years to beat it. I do agree that the characters were good, especially for a handheld. The end wasn't the MOST depressing, but it's on my list of top five worst endings.
