Re: Could Nintendo change the series?

there are different ways the series could change other than technology
the setting doesnt need to change the seriousness and the way the story is told needs to
i believe people feel its getting stale because most games end similarly

the overall plot of the series needs to go somewhere since like 6 links have "defeated ganon"

Post MY ZELDA GAME

I am writing a game that breaks up the normal zelda formula and has a good storyline. To support sign my petition at http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/Poweroftwili
This is an idea for a game that is almost made into a complete story for a brand new Zelda game sequling Twilight Princess called
The Legend Of Zelda: The Power Of Twili
In this game Hyrule is attacked again a few years after the events of Twilight Princess. Hyrule and Twili are taken over. Link still has the Master sword and some of his old items. Midna comes back and still can transform Link into a wolf. Making most of the dungeons for both of Links forms to work together. A new set of dungeons in twili itself.and a mysterious new Sword that transforms link into a twili so he can use the twili magic. Even a new main enemy. This game will break up the zelda formula with almost 15 dungeons. I am bringing back spells, there will be a new species or two, a new small world, new gameplay functions for aiming, this game will also require wii motion plus for many gameplay functions.

I enjoy Zelda because it's different. I like Zelda because it isn't a shooter game, and because it takes place in a different time period. I play Zelda because I want to play a save the princess/world plot and I want to fight Ganon. That is what defines the series, and the people who want to change the definition of the series can just go find another game. You don't want to see Zelda or Ganondorf anymore? Go play something else... seriously.

I don't like the direction Zelda is going in and I don't believe that I'm holding it back at all. There are things that could be changed, but leave the plot and time period alone. They define the series.

The good feeling I get from playing Zelda games just doesn't happen when I'm playing Phantom Hourglass or Wind Waker. They don't feel like a Zelda game at all, they just feel like cheap rip-offs that used the title for personal gain.

If they revamp Zelda and turn it into another conforming marketing product, I won't buy or support it. You just can't compare these games to other modern video games. They're not the same and they never should be.
I completely agree with this and think that it's idiotic for zelda to have a futuristic feel.

Could Nintendo change the series?
Yes.
Would they live long enough to know if they made the right choice?
No.

Re: Could Nintendo change the series?

There are some things that could obviously be incorporated into Zelda series that are 1800s/early 1900s, as long as they have a cartoonish aproach.

Don't believe me? Are the Human-Launching cannons seen in TP mideval? Not really. But it doesn't have a realistic feel to it, so it fits right in!

As long as there is no mideval counterpart to the futuristic item (EG: Bow and arrows/ bombs, Epong/Motorbike), than it will fit in fine. It just can't be obvious that it's electrical, or invented for WWI or anything.

Re: Could Nintendo change the series?

I kind of like the idea of a zelda game leaning towards a more fantasy setting with a much larger game world. WHy just have one caslte? Why not have a huge world that has multiple continents that can be traveled by land and sea? What about adding more traditonal fantasy elements? Lets have wars between kingdoms. Lets have mass armys of knights, archers, and wizards.
