If you were to design a secret area . . .
Here's the setup:
You check your email one day and find this message in your inbox: From: Nintendo Subject: Secret Design Hello (Insert Name Here)! After careful observation, (As in, we hired someone to stalk your house) we have decided that you are the second biggest Zelda fan (Nittles, of course, being the biggest, as well as the best looking and the smartest) and would like you to design a secret area for the next Zelda game. You can make it whatever you like, from a treasure chest, to an entire dungeon, and we don't care how it alters the story, the gameplay, or the rating. Just know that the area will be next to impossible to find on your own. Yours Truly, An underpaid intern at Nintendo. ----------------------------- Mine would be the hardest dungeon in the world, as well as the most random dungeon in the world, with things like Guays that attack by pooping on you, and stuff like that. All the puzzles are completely random, as in, attack the wall decorations, and stuff. The boss would be me, sitting on a flying couch, attacking with an all powerful Wii Remote/Nunchuck combo. All my attacks can kill you in one hit, and are really tough to dodge. None of your attacks work on me. The secret? Pick up one of the jars in the corner and throw it at me, defeating me instantly. Oh, and if you die anywhere in the dungeon, the entrance collapses and you can never get back in. And there's no hearts or rupees or pickups of any kind anywhere in the dungeon. The reward for beating the dungeon? Absolutley nothing. Whatsoever. |

Wow! Your idea is really sadistic! Well, my idea for a secret area (it's sort of two actually) would be a secret grove in the Lost Woods that's really difficult to reach. Along the way, there would be magical "chambers of remembrance" where you would have to go through parts of previous dungeons or battle previous bosses. When you finally get there, you would find a treasure chest on a tree stump with sunlight breaking through the trees and shining on it. Inside would be a key to the old, abandoned library in town. Inside the library you would find books about the history of Hyrule that would reveal the timeline.

Since my name is Chris Houlihan, I would have a room where you have to do carefully timed jumps with the pegasus boots to get to a room with a plaque on the wall that says my name.

Re: If you were to design a secret area . . .
Well, if it could've been included in TP, I'd have a crate at the enterance to East Hyrule Field. Take it and carry it the castle bridge , climb on it, and jump into the water. Put on yeh Iron Boots andlook up towards the bottom of the bridge, using your claw shot to get under it, and the again to climb up vine which lead to the inside of it. In side will be catacombs with no puzzles. Just keep traveling through passages. At the end is the dead body of Gohma from the orignal N64, but revamped. Walk up to it and a mysterious voice says 'Prepare to face the orignal queen!' And blah blah battle it like N64 but harder, Then a glowing body kind of like Link but long hair comes down and says "Thanks for playing Reed's room, accept this 'Legend's tunic'"
The Legends tunic would look like the skill teacher guys, but golden/green scheme, and triples your attack and defense, and well as all attacks are 1/4 heart.

Re: If you were to design a secret area . . .
I was thinking this for TP. For anyone who pays attention to those glitch/action replay threads....
In the graveyard of kakariko village there would be a secret house. To reach this secret house you would have to leap over the east wall. This can be done through glitching or levitating. This secret house would unlock a second quest option. Meaning, if you wanted to play a new game you chose 1st quest or 2nd quest. The second quest would be more difficult, not just damage but fighting wise. There would also be a new dungeon with a new fun item. (The Windwaker's Leaf Item). The designers would tell that there is a huge secret in the game, but not say what. They'll say they'll reveal it in a year if no one finds it. Why? To create more game sales for the game. ![]() |

An area that can't be reached without a cheat device. Upon reaching, camera zooms to Kaepora Gaebora and he will talk so much that you'll have to reset the game to get out of it.

Re: If you were to design a secret area . . .
It would be in the woods and there would have to be water. A stream or a pond so you could fish and swim and just generally fool around. A tranquil place but with something that you could do there over and over again. Not necessarily a mini game and definitely nothing like the Temple of Ocean King that you are forced to do, but some nice little activity like seeing the change in nature like animals coming and going about their business. A place where you can relax and spend time in without getting bored because even that the place looks nice there is nothing fun to do. I think digging could be involved. Digging could be nice there. But nothing like the impossible lottery in ALttP when you have to find the heart piece in the digging game. Or even the annoying rerun of that in OoT's Dampe's heartpounding gravedigging tour.

Well, I would create A hidden City within the Lost Woods. A city kinda like Diagon Alley in harry potter lol. Where you could buy everything the game had to offer, including hidden weapons in the chests in the dungeons. You can also buy potions to heal with, etc...You can also play all kinds of games and stuff. I would name the secret city/or town whatever hehe..."Lordarock Village." It would have all kinds of races walking the streets, Hylians, Deku's, Goron's, Zora's, just all kinds, it would have waterparks and stuff to play in too!
