Re: What enemy needs to return?

Stalfos have to be in there or there hasn't been a single enemy that's been in every game. Silver that's a bit harsh, i could understand inventing new enemies but they have to have some of the classics return.

Okay they don't have to but what's wrong with them including them anyway. It's kinda hard to come up with enough new enemies to populate an entire game without using old one's or constantly having you fight the same enemy.

I'd say we need more Iron Knuckles, Wall/Floormasters, Gibdoes (or however you spell it) and ooT Redeads, dead hand, and best of all, Rupee-likes! :[) Yes, the wonderful beast that eat your rupees and give you the pleasure of refilling a once permanently-full wallet!

Look at Metroid. Many new enemies are featured in each game, and recurring enemies are sometimes altered beyond recognition (See Geemers in Super Metroid and Metroid Prime). The enemies that recur mostly, aside from Space Pirates, are bosses, namely Ridley, Kraid, and Mother Brain, while including a plethora of new bosses as well.

So, try not the use the lack of creativity (Or just plain laziness) on the Zelda team's part as crutch.

But don't the numerous metroid games occur in different worlds? That would make it more logical for there to be all new enemies, i'm not saying have no new enemies but i think a balance needs to be struck between creativity and tradition. I didn't recognize some of TP's enemies when i first saw them.

Re: What enemy needs to return?

When it comes to Zelda, "tradition" seems to be synonymous with "stagnation".

In other words, tradition is holding Zelda back.

I never said have nothing new! I just said a balance needs to be struck between how many new things a game should and how much should return.

I am aware of that. However, tradition is holding Zelda back.

Then don't play the games, you already stated it's not your favorite series. Although i don't like it as much Metroid is still a good series.

Hes right, Zelda started out with alot going for it, but it never evolved, other series are in trouble as they sold the fans out to the action crowd, Zeldas in trouble because tradition has fixed the game in a stale position.

It did evolve, let's ignore that for now though. I will say this, i find it hard to believe that because in the opinion of you people one game failed to introduce anything new the series is going to hell! New elements are nice but zelda should and will maintain some elements.

Well, I believe there's no harm in combining new and old enemies as the LoZ has always done. The only traditional element that LoZ seems to be attached to is the storyline. Gameplay greatly improved in TP. It successfully evolved into something greater. The storyline is the only thing holding the series back in my opinion.

Re: What enemy needs to return?

I would love to see classic foes in 3-D. I want to see Thunder Bird, imagine a giant 2 headed eagle pulsing with electrical energy and the fight takes place in the middle of a hurricane. Oh yeah, Link would be in for one helluva fight.

The WM Cody does, doesn't he look like the big pig-headed guy in Alttp?

(Yes, I know that was Ganon, just a joke. But he is pig-headed.)

I wonder what the Lynels, Patras, and Aquamentus would look like in 3D!
