Are Darknuts Themselves A Species?
I mean, like, soilders arn't a species, they're a type of human, so human is the species. Are Darknuts always Knights in armor, or are they a seperate species, but the only ones you encounter are the knights.
I think they are a species, because they are actually canine creatures in WW, so you can see that they arn't just evil creations.

I think that they, (as well as most other Zelda enemies) are made of pure dark magic by either Ganondorf or other baddies. Darknuts, since all we see are them in armour, i think are just black magic tied together in that form. They don't really have souls or life or anything. Just my thoughts on it.

They're all born in the Evil Jar.
@Aura Pulse: Actually there's someone or something under the armor, check The Wind Waker or Twilight Princess. ^^

Re: Are Darknuts Themselves A Species?
There is high reason to believe
that 'Darknut' is a mistranslation of 'Dark knight'. Considering their first appearance in the original LoZ, I'm pretty sure they were considered 'Dark Knights'. They then, like everything else in Zelda, evolved from there.

Re: Are Darknuts Themselves A Species?
Depends on what ones you are on about.
There are the Iron Knuckles in OoT which are just suits of armour enchanted. There are the Darknuts in Windwaker which I would consider a species. Then in TP we have what would appear to be Iron Knuckles but they fight a bit like Darknuts (especially in their second form) As long as we are talking about the ones in Windwaker then I would say they are a species |
