The single greatest MOMENT in Zelda history

What single moment in time in a Zelda game would you label as the "greatest" i.e. the most epic or most touching, etc.?

For me:
It would be when "GANON" appears at the bottom of the screen during the final battle of OoT after Ganondorf transforms.
That moment just sends chills down my spine whenever I watch it.

Also, second place goes to the crowd's reaction to TP's first trailer at E3 2004, lol

Re: The single greatest MOMENT in Zelda history

Actually, I have to agree with you. That moment is by far my favourite of the series.

Another good moment was when

Midna broke the mirror at the end of Twilight Princess

(not sure if that's really spoiler-worthy, but may as well put it in spoiler captions)

oooh, tricky... i'll have to say the first time walking into hyrule field in oot, and then sneaking past the guards and finding zelda. that was epic. i had a friend sleep over when that happened. we sat up gaming oot all night. saddest moment though is healing darmani in mm(off-topic i know)

"Healing Darmani" is off-topic, "The cutscene that plays when Darmani gets healed" is not.

That is a valid choice, all the same.

But next time, try to choose an actual moment rather than an occurence .

I thought it was pretty cool how Link kills Ganondorf in Wind Waker. An awesome finish to an awesome battle.

Re: The single greatest MOMENT in Zelda history

Sigh.. I actually agree with Double A on this one.

Second place goes to the scene in Majora's Mask where the Giants all come together to hold the moon up and Link goes inside to take on Majora only to find a beautiful meadow.

Re: The single greatest MOMENT in Zelda history

Oh! Oh! I thought of something else!

In Wind Waker, when Beedle raves about how awesome you are.

I was about to kill myself that day, but Beedle gave me the inspiration I needed.

... Of course I'm joking.

Re: The single greatest MOMENT in Zelda history

If we are talking about in-game moments, then I'd choose... Yeah, the credits from TP where awesome ^_^

If we are talking about trailers and stuff then it would have to be... The trailer at E3 2004 of Twilight Princess Link to the vid ^_^

For me, that was one of the lamest Zelda moments. I thought Ganondorf was WAY underpowered. And when he said "The wind...I can feel it" I almost cried because it was so lame.

I'm going to have to say the OoA credits, just because they were my first favorite Zelda moment ever.

Re: The single greatest MOMENT in Zelda history

The epic-est Zelda moment was when the Giant showed up and caught the moon. It was awesome cuz after all the hardships of MM, the world is safe. You know everything will be okay for Termina .

Re: The single greatest MOMENT in Zelda history

At the end of Wind Waker, when Tetra said, y'know, they'd go and find stuff. "Our destination? The sea!"

........it was awesome when I imagined it myself.

But in all seriousness, I do very much agree with Crimson Moon, although the ending as a whole was just extremely powerful.

GANON

was also really good, there is no denying that.

And I feel that this should be mentioned. Seriously, if there's any day Miyamoto won, it was that day. Seriously, that was just...amazing.

God I wish I was there ;__;

Re: The single greatest MOMENT in Zelda history

Seeing Zelda in 3d for the first time when OoT came out, It was all very hyped how we was finally going to see how she really lookse for the time. The game was graphically amazing, and that moment where we see her for the first real time other then a small 2d sprite was pretty memorable, indeed its been voted such on many lists, OoT was the most preordered game for years.

GANON.

Honestly, that always sends chills down my spine whenever I watch it happen. It's really, really epic. Then when he knocks the Master Sword out of Link's hand...damn. Amazing.

Even though that scene at the end of LA was one of the strongest, I still can't name the number 1 greatest moment in Zelda history...there are too many.

Re: The single greatest MOMENT in Zelda history

I have to say when i went under-water to find hyrule in tWW, that was the greatest (and saddest) moment in LoZ history for me.

The next best moment was when i found the broken temple of time in TP.....that was amazing.

and my third is a tie.... its between midna's transformation/braking the mirror or sheik revealing he's zelda.
