Is it just me, or are Zelda and Link becoming just friends???

The Zelda series has been focused on (but not always) the typical hero going out on a quest to save the princess from the bad guy.

In Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Twilight Princess, ect., is it just me or has Link given up on Zelda and focused more on other female characters?

We have Malon on OoT.

And Ilia on TP.


What's going on here?

Links a pimp, what can we say. even Zora chicks want to marry him. it's not that he's given up, he just wants to broaden his horizon. plus Zelda would be a pain in the ass to date knowing everything and stuff.

No. Midna likes to boss him around and likes to flirt with the Hyrulian Hero.

But seriously, Link and Zelda are now becoming more allies than romantic interest.

She kissed him once in Adventure of Link but even then she had no idea who he was, since she had been cursed to eternal sleep since before he was born.

well they went through a lot! Not because they looooooved each other! In TP its Ilia. face it. Midna is just a friend.

Zelda and Link were never together.

And wat. Link never had to save Malon in OoT.

It's Midna and Link I don't care what you say!

Their relationship was never anything but "Prince charming and damzel in distress" or "partners". They've never really even had a "friends" relationship.

Malon was a love interest? I can understand Ilia, but if my memory serves me correctly, it's possible to beat Ocarina of Time without ever even meeting Malon. If you do it the right way, however, you have to meet her once as a 10-year-old in the Market. Not really any romance goin' on there. You don't even have to visit her at Lon Lon Ranch later in the game as a child or as an adult. Ilia, however, was involved in the plot of TP specifically as Link's love interest.

Okay, fair. If you don't complete the game by doing everything in the guide, then Malon is not a love interest. However, in the manga for the Zelda OoT, Malon is somewhat considered a love interest.

no, it's true! she's disappointed cause Link was looking for Zelda. link fell in love with her.
