Unless the actual makers of OoT make another game or a manga about the OoT, and actually claim that it is behind the scenes of OoT, then it's different from fanfic.

i understand what you are saying. fanfic yes, okay. completely different? i just have to disagree. sure it was someone else making it but it based off of the game OoT and couldn't be made any other way. or they wouldn't have called the manga OoT.

Well, it's like writing fanfic of anything. In Japan, there are fanfics of Pokemon, Final Fantasy (I think) and yet, they have no relation to the games or storyline. Just something fun and imaginative to read.

Well, just on the subject of Malon being a potentially optional character in OOT, I would think MM contradicts the possibilities of Link canonically ignoring Malon from after their first meeting. Logically speaking, if Link never met with Malon at the Ranch or went asa child, he'd never meet Epona, and if he never met Epona, he'd never be riding her in the beginning of MM, coupled with the fact that I don't recall Epona being canoncially optional to obtain in MM what with having to actually use her to leap over the fences to the third and fourth dungeons' areas. Based on that, I think most would at least suggest that either Link meeting Malon and milking her role for all it was worth in the game was canon, or that Link at least got to know her similarly anytime between OOT's ending and MM's opening.

Dude, i understand what you are saying but i'm missing exactly how that rules out the possibility of Malon being a potential love interest?

Actually, there is speculation that Malon and Link are the love interests in OoT than Link with Zelda.

Some have said that TP Link could be the descendants of Malon and Link from OoT, hence living on the farm business and being a natural horse wrangler.

But then again, this is fanbase.

Awesome point.

Ok a couple things here.

You can obviously tell in TP that a Link and Illia thing is going on. It's harder to tell with midna, but you can tell at the end that midna is feeling something towards Link. Now in TP Link doesn't show alot of feelings, but just the same you can see at the end that Link is feeling something that could be counted towards a romance.

The manga is NOT, I repeat, NOT canon. It is fanfiction written by people with an imagination who change it a little. I do agree that Malon is a potential love interest in Oot.

Yeah, Link and Ilia made more sense than any other girl.
