Personally I could care less if OOT Link is gay based on how much he was more socially interactive with Shiek as a guy than Zelda as a beautiful feminine woman. As I said before the often ignored evidence of 7 years lost maturity makes it more easier for me to believe Link was just a painfully shy & timid boy unsure of himself and his feelings for females. Ridiculous speculation based on questionable graphics that leads to fanfiction assumptions that Link was a fully matured man in heart and mind somehow just doesn't seem convincing enough for me to believe otherwise. So IMO OOT Link has the potential to be full on gay or straight as a normally matured young man in the Child Timeline.

It sounds like being confronted with the concept and then going into denial. Or homophobia.

We need a new word for homophobia by the way, because I just noticed that directly translated it means "fear of the same". Or was that intentional when the term was coined?

I noticed that! It sounds like a bunch of people are terrified by the idea of a gay Link, without any real reason to be.

well no matter how beautiful a girl is, wouldnt you be freaked out if you got engaged in that fashion? Plus, Link doesn't even look anything like a male Zora, yet Ruto still finds him attractive? If a Zora can find a Hylian attractive, why not the other way round? But I am going way offtopic. I still think OoT Link is the most likely candidate to be gay, as he dosn\t react to any of Hyrule's most beautiful women throwing themselves at him.

I also think that... nomatter what body he was in -- in terms of psychosocial development he was still an infant who grew up in a wood full of children (can't remember the Kokiri backstory, but did they ever grow up?) ~In an utopian situation, who was then plunged into a world of danger and intrigue.

It's possible that Link either didn't care, knew he wasn't coming back or was simply too young to comprehend/accept such commitment.

I know there have been SEVERAL of these kind of thread(s) floating around, & I've already started one of my own: Can't seem to pull it up though& it's BEEN *LOCKED*...

Anyways, without further delay, may I propose that Link is NEITHER HETEROSEXUAL NOR HOMOSEXUAL, BUT BISEXUAL!!

He obviously has a thing for other guys in TP, (not going to say WHO, though, at least not RIGHT NOW, as that would probably meet with great disapproval from many people), but to suggest that since the various incarnations of Link from different realities/generations have PRETTY MUCH THE SAME PERSONALITY, then it's logical to assume, (that is, IF my presumptions are correct, & 1 or more Link[s] IS/ARE BI), that MOST/MANY of them ARE BI!!

What do you guys think?!

Which other guys? The only people I can recall TP Link showing any interest in are Midna and Ilia (and possibly Telma, though that's a little iffy).

In a video of TP I saw, Link was touching Colin in a *sensitive area*, & although that ISN'T ACCEPTABLE HERE, perhaps they have different laws in Hyrule &/or surrounding areas...

& maybe many of the Links, such as OOT, LOZ, &/or ALTTP Links are bi as well...

P.S. I believe that those particuar Links are the same in the CT in some realities, & NO-ONE CAN CHANGE MY MIND!!

Dude, he was totally into Shad, that is just so obvious that it's not even funny. The way he looked at him each time he talked, and listened so intensively, all the while having wild fantasies about how he'd totally...
...oh wait, never mind, I was describing myself there, not Link...

But eh, he really could be bisexual. Personally I don't really feel his personality's ever been fleshed out enough to determine anything like that, though, mainly due to his complete lack of speech. He may look shy around Zelda, or perhaps be all dreamy when Sheik's speaking, but I personally caught very few hints in that area. When leaving Kokiri Forest he doesn't really know how to act towards Saria, but I'm guessing that's more because he's just not sure how to say goodbye than him being shy because she's a girl.

But on the fanfiction side, having him bisexual would open up a lot of possibilities, definitely. But I can't say I can see anything that'd point to that possibility.

A lot of the Links are young and therefore don't have the mental capacity for romantic feelings. OoT adult Link is pretty much kid Link in a grown up body. TP Link clearly digs either Ilia *shudders* or Midna.

You made this thread despite the 5+ other LINK IS GAY threads, and specifically because you were banned from theorizing and your other thread was locked? You know, when people are banned and have their threads locked, they usually get the message.

Having all these threads won't do. So instead, I decided to merge them into one thread and change the title. Due to the nature of this discussion, I'll also be leaving a little note on the OP about how it'll be taken a little more sternly than the other threads within this board.

There are like... Many different Links. I'm sure one of them would be gay.

They're love interests because they're pretty and they have vaginas. Duh.

Really, by the logic that every female he meets is a love interest, why not pair him with Jabu-Jabu? Deku Tree? Maybe some Orca in der?

They are love interests because they show interest in Link. We need to remember that Link is an avatar and it is up to us who he ends up with. That being said, they probably went a little far in showing that Link is an avatar by giving him limited reactions to the female advances, but please be sure that (1) there are no male love interests and (2)Link does have female interests.

I'm not here to argue that some of the pairings can't be canon, but arguing that he's definitely interested in them is pointless.

Also, I've never liked or understood the "silent protagonist = player" thing, I usually just assume the character is quiet. >_>
