Do YOUR parents play Zelda?

(...note...I'm 24 and my dad's 45)

So...

It's like 10:45 at night. And my phone rings. I fumble for it, knocking my alarm and a glass of water off my nightstand. My wife rolls over, confused asking if everything's okay. The phone's still ringing. Its gone to voicemail, and they've called back already. Something must be wrong!!!

I look at the caller and it's my Dad. "Oh God! Grandma's died!!! Their house has burnt down!!! Something Bad must have happened for him to call me this late?!?!?!?"

I answer the phone and this is pretty much how it went...

Me: "...helloooo..."
Dad: "Hey Matt! Glad you're still up! I really need your help!"
Me: "...sure...sure... what's wrong?!"
Dad: "Well, I just made my way to the third floor of the water temple in Master Quest and I can't seem to remember where find the switch to open the..." blah, blah, blah...etc....etc...

So I get up, hop on the net at 11:00 at friggin night!!! and walk him through it.


This is not the only time that's happened to me. He just called me again today about WW.

Am I the only guy whos Dad plays Zelda as much as he does? What about you guys?

My mom used to... she hasn't for a while, but anyway, she uses those guide books

only Game my dad ever really liked in zelda was Oot he done half of WW and TP thats it he gets bored of them he plays oot over and over tho strange :S

My parents just watch me play Zelda. And my mom freaks out when I get hurt/fall off a cliff/etc.
I did that once, fell off a cliff, and instead of freaking out she just said "You died"...

My dad played OoT when I was little. He was the one who got me into Zelda. ^-^

i remember when i was like 6 years old, my dad he did play them.
first we where playing the Legend of Zelda, which he never finished but i did a couple of months ago ;D like yay me.
and then when i was like 7 years old, he was playing Oot. he finished it and i was watching him the whole time.
i think my mom did to, but for one day, she had no idea what she was doing but she did pretty good for her first time O___o
ever since then i have been addicted to these games

I WISH my parents were that cool!!

My dad used to LOVE to do the fishing in OoT. he learned just enough about it to turn on the game, load my file, get to the lake, and fish.

Dude, your dad is AWESOME. My parents hate video games. Actually, my dad doesn't mind them but he doesn't play them. Except for my brother's games, which are Halo and stuff... but he rarely plays those too.

My parents would watch me and my brother play OoT, that's about it.

My Dad's dabbled in TP a few times. I think it confuses him too much though. I remember him playing OoT a bit when I was younger too.

And in my less immediate family, one of my first memories of playing Zelda was ALtTP on my Grandmother's Super Nintendo.

^Hey, my grandma owned our SNES too! XD

She beat ALttP. My mom almost beat TWW and has played OoT. 'Tis all. xP

My godfather is who got me into zelda. He.. is.. the ..zelda master.

My parents don't play any Zelda, although they do actually like some of its music--their favorites are Kakariko Village and Lon Lon Ranch. I have several different versions of each song on my computer, and they like listening to all of them.

Now that I think about it, though, I do remember one occasion where I tried to get my mom to play ALttP way back when I was younger. I started her off inside Skull Woods, and needless to say, she gave up pretty quick.

my mom can barely use a computer let alone play a zelda game, watching my mom play a mainstream video game is like watching a cat try to sprout wings and fly

My dad used to play a bit of Goldeneye with my brother and I, but beyond that, neither one of my parents plays any video-games.

...well, my mom plays some random puzzle-based Flash games when talking on the phone, but...

No... I wish! My dad mocks my obsession with Zelda. Sometimes he really makes me wish that I had the Master Sword on me...

I remember my step mother liked this Japanese song from either a video game or a Anime. Can't remember which, but she liked it.

My mom was really into Dr. Mario and Tetris, but other than that, my parents don't really like video games that much. Dad would rather go hunting for deer.

As for myself, I'll probably still love video games when/if I have children. I hope to teach them a thing or two about it. I want to imagine them being like, 16, and stuck on this really hard level, and then they ask me for help. Haha. The thought amuses me.

My aunt plays Zelda all the time. None of my parents though.

Yeah, my aunt mainly plays zelda, but she also plays a lot of civilization. It's creepy because every time i've been there, they are either playing one of the two, or have it on in the background idle.

my dad SOMETIMES plays Halo or COD5 with me..... at least he did till I got the RRoD on my 360.

My mom doesn't like video games, she's never tried Zelda no matter how many times I try to talk her into playing anything other than puzzle games on the computer... and mom doesn't like them because her children have become "obsessed" with them

Eh my mother and step dad loathe games. Claims it's a waste of money and that I need to 'grow up'. Frustrates me beyond belief. My real dad likes games though. He plays more FPS than anything else though.

My mom will only play the Wind Waker. All other Zelda games are just badly made to her.

Dad doesn't play them, but my sis and I play them like there's no tomorrow.
