What do you think of a zelda anime?

i know theres a anime out for zelda but it sucks...

but recently reading some zelda manga the drawings in them makes link look so much better i would love a zelda anime on Oot and MM of course american voice overs would ruin it so i would rather stick with japanese english Sub. the story in the manga follows the game but make it look so much better but also changing some of the story around.

yeah, a zelda anime. i've been thinking about that and it just has to be Ocarina of time. didn't realy like the manga though... i think it would work realy good if done well. i would watch it

I don't think it is very likely, because Zelda isn't "that" popular in Japan and the Japanese anime industry only actively seeks out popular media to adapt into animations. They would do it if Nintendo contracted them, but that probably won't happen because there's not much profit to be had, since again, the anime would not be popular and the merchandising opportunities would be limited.

They could make the anime to appeal exclusively to Western audiences, but the North American anime industry makes only okay money. We aren't as dedicated to buying all the collectibles and accessories (the toys, soundtracks, models, posters, literature, etc), which is where most of the money is. The North American market can be a nice bonus, but rarely a raging success.

If it was really well done and not like DBZ, than it could be a great idea. Japanese with English subtitles baby!

Everytime this topic comes up, I say the exact same thing:

If there's going to be a Zelda anime, we shouldn't base it off of any video game. It should be something original. Why? Because as gamers, we'd know (more or less) what is going to happen next (at least we'd know how the series will end). With an original storyline, it would be refreshing to see cameos (for example a Mario/Talon-looking character in the background), and having discussions of what we think Link is going to do next. If we know Link is going to go from the Deku Tree, to Death Mountain, to Zora's Domain, to etc..., then the whole series is going to be predictable, and where's the fun in that? I'd rather have Nintendo come out with an anime series when at the final episode they'll release the video game.

if they did do one im not to worryed aobut being able to predict it cause there always bound to be fillers for example link needs to train with the master sword before he even begins is real juorney as adult link

Don't worry,im on that,and my Zelda anime series will leave all of you speechless,well not really,but it will have battles and character never before shown in the manga serie
The Legend of Zelda orcarina of Time,the way it was meant to be ,the way it's supposed to be.

I think that if it were gameplay based, any rendition of re-creation (whether it be an anime, movie or TELEVISION SERIES FROM THE 80's) would kill the concept of Zelda. Agreeing with BigGoronSword, it would have to be original and unpredictable. But that in itself would cause problems with angsty, dedicated LoZ fans as they would scream, "Dodongos Cavern comes next, why is Link already talking to Zoras?!" Kind of like how some people read a book and then yell at the movie (or its producer, director, etc) for not going exactly chronological, or putting in every last detail.

Basically, I don't want to see anything Zelda outside of the games. (And can you believe the cartoons can be found in Redbox? Lame-sauce.)

no no,my series will be better than the manga serie,and no it won't be lame,i can asure you.

If one was ever made it will most likely be a retelling of Ocarina of Time from the manga.

Full Anime wouldn't work.
But OVA retellings of OoT ,MM ,WW and TP would be awsome.
I would love to hear Ganondorf, the HMS and Zelda speaking.

A Zelda anime could be good if it was done the right way.
But they would probably have a hard time trying to find voice actors for a game that has no voice acting.
Plus it would probably be 4-Kids who would end up doing the dub.
But I think that if done right ALTTP would be cool to see in anime form.

It should be a Bible Black/Legend of Zelda crossover or La Blue Girl/Legend of Zelda crossover if done right.
