If I recall correctly the Fire Rod takes care of the plants that Bow-Wow ate for you clearing the way earlier on in the game. These should not be missable.

One thing I need to bring to attention is something that happened to me when playing AoL. Though the author of this thread says that if you beat a dungeon before collecting an item leaves the dungeon open so that you can go back and grab the missing item before closing it off forever, I must disagree. Perhaps this is a glitch they fixed on the Wii's Virtual Console, but I played AoL many times as a kid and more than once forgot to grab the Water Walking Boots from the 4th Palace. After defeating Carock at the end of the dungeon and returning the Crystal to its respective Statue, I would leave the dungeon to find it turned to stone. Only after that, trying to cross the river right next to the Palace, would I discover that I forgot to grab the Water Walking Boots. I can think of three times that I did this accidentally while rushing through the game on a boring Saturday afternoon.

So, I don't know if the glitch is only for the 4th Palace of AoL or if it goes for all the Palaces. I think this would definitely be something to look into. For future reference to any that might attempt playing through AoL, do not forget to attain the item hidden within each dungeon, especially the 4th one, in Zelda II: the Adventure of Link.

Uggg that forest stage made me mad. I already gave the mask to skull kid, I cant get the deku stick upgrade.

You can borrow the masks even after you sell them, they aren't one of a kind.

I had no idea so many things were missable, I think i knew about that deku nut upgrade though. I hate that Wind Waker Gallery thing, takes forever. Some day I will do it.

You should add in Oot the ice arrow. Its sorta a missable. If you pick the right door, its impossible to get the ice arrow.

In the Legend of Zelda games, there are many mistakable items. When I say mistakable items, I mean the small stuff, (rupees, heart containers, Easter eggs, and many other.) It's always good to own a Guide Book for all the Legend of Zelda games, because then you can go back the second time through and solve all the problems in the games. For example, this is a page in the guide book. It's a section that includes all the figurines in the game of Legend of Zelda Wind Waker. This Guide Book also includes a checklist to check them all off, and tells you were to find all of the figurines.
