The Romance Thread IV: The Debate Continues

In this intellectual discussion, we shall all talk about love- more specifically, love concerning our hero, Link. In other words, the shippers will scream at each other back and forth, and the mods will delete post upon post.
And furthermore, one member will soundly pwn another's idea, only for the pwned idea to be repeated by some random newcomer. Such is the way of a stickied thread.

Post on, ZUers! What woman (or man or thing) goes best with Link? Or, should you feel that a romance would somehow tarnish his character, then make your case!

But why did you add Linebeck, but not Dark Link? I thought Dark LinkxLink was more popular than LinebeckxLink.
Anyway, I'm still saying Zelda/Tetra fits him the best.

Rosa! But, as stated before, they would probably fit better as friends.

If we exclude Rosa then I'll vote for Gina. I know that it wasn't any interaction between them except for the Kinstone Fusing, but I think that they fit together.

I really like Ilia, but I think she should go for someone else. I mean, realationships between childhood friends can be difficult enough, but Link is also the guy who had to save the world, fight scary monsters on daily basis and whose partner just destroyed the only way they had to ever see each other again.
The guy should be traumatizised and I'm not sure if Ilia is the type of person who can handle that - especially since he should have changed pretty much from the man she knew.

Yeah. I think it's realatively likely in stories that two childhood friends get together, but if you look at it realistically, it's pretty unlikely that such a relationship works out. (And I always think it'd be sad if a good friendship gets destroyed because of romance.)

Marin goes best with Link. The end and just to calrify for anyody who thinks Malon is Marin, she's not. Similar, but different. Sure, they both like singing, and both are ginger/redhead but they are not the same person!

Oh, I forgot about Marin! She's on the third place of creatures who fits best with Link.

Well as everyone already knows about me, Oracle Din x Ganondorf, Link x Ganondorf and Goron x Rito are the win.

Ah, Ruto's up there this time. She's my vote for Link. She showed obvious feelings for Link, and they even got engaged through the Zora's Sapphire. I don't really understand why Link found her so annoying to be around. I guess it's because he never properly aged after 10 years old.

I think Zelda is the best for Link. Ever. She understands Link and what great and difficult things he did in his life. I think (or I want to think) her spirit (or what) always guards Link, even if he's far away. They'd have a peacefully life together.

Yeah. Or it was about the carrying stuff... Bad first impression I suppose (even though I personally love her for it).
And LinkxRuto is certainly one of my favorites.

Call me old school, but I can only see Link with Zelda. I mean, come on, in mostly every game, who does he save? Who dresses up as "alter-ego" type deals and helps Link on his mission? There's just something about those two that make it seem like they're met for each other.

This is exactly why I think OOT Link and Zelda seem more like close best friends. Zelda understanding Link more than anyone and being all over protective and caring makes her more of a role model suited for a mother or older sister instead of a romantic lover IMO.

Its LinkxMalon for me mainly because the simple humble lifestyle is a perfect match for Links simple and humble personality IMO. Though I think Link could still be with a royal type like Ruto or Zelda if he wanted to, but it would be a royal lifestyle that would be harder to adapt to if you ask me.

no its becuase shes a zora..hes a hylian..dude..how would they have babys-.-

Emotional understanding makes one unsuited as a lover o.ò? ...Strange, I always thought people try to understand their partner to the best of their ability.
Anyway, Zelda isn't really overptotective. If she were, she wouldn't let Link fight monsters, even sending him out to do so. She's caring, yes, but it'd be sad if there was no care for each other in a relationship.
I think her understanding of Link and caring - and trust, since she puts the fate of her kingdom into his hands - is actually increasing the possibiliy for them to end up together.

Zora Mask. Okay, can be that they'd be genetically Mikau's babys, but who cares. Besides Hylians - or at least Terminians - seem to find Zoras attractive, since the girl with the treasure chest game flirts with Zora Link.
