Requiem of Spirit, because it was the only song that I remembered from playing OOT as a kid.

Re: Favourite Ocarina of Time warp songs

There was another thread almost exactly like this one just about a week ago. I'm gonna say the Serenade of Water like I did in the other one. Requiem of Spirit is second.

To avoid this thread from continuing it's course as a spammy-list-type thread, how about we get some more content in these posts? Give reasons as to why you have a preference for a certain song, how it makes you feel, how fitting you thought it was for where it was featured etc...

Re: Favourite Ocarina of Time warp songs

Why I love Bolero of Fire: it's so epic because it sounds like a military march, & the way it crescendos reminds me of a fire growing in size. Fire is also synonymous with passion, & the song conveys that beautifully. I also love Darunia & the Fire Temple. But since the song sounds like a military march, I also like that it conveys brotherhood, like Darunia & Link fighting to save the Gorons & restore the Fire Temple.

In short, all those elements (brotherhood & thus the relationship between Link & the Sage Darunia through the military march-sound, the representation of fire through the crescendo, & passion as synonymous to fire) are present within the Bolero of Fire.
& I think it does the best job of all the warp songs in all 3 ways: conveying the relationship between Link & the Sage, representing the temple's element, & representing ideas associated with the temple's element.

Serenade of Water is my favorite since it is just so calm, so soothing, so relaxing. It kinda makes you forget about everything as you're listening to it, especially TP's version. I love the water, I love the Zoras, so it should be no surprise as to why I chose that song.

Minuet of Forest, because it's truly like a real minuet. Rhythmical, airy and energetic. And that's the first warp song by the way.
About Serenade of Water I must agree with dany

There are two timelines(Child timeline and adult timeline) and one extra parallel world(as we see in LA(Koholint),MM(Termina) and PH(Oshus world). It's possible to get (e.g.) from the Child Timeline to Adult timeline by passing another portal that leads to whatever(LoZ for example).

Well, I can't seem to decide between Requiem of Spirit and Nocturne of Shadow.

I can understand why everyone loves Serenade of Water, but I dislike it. It's just, not my kind of song. It's a pretty little song that makes you feel calm and happy in the inside, and that doesn't work on me.

Requiem of Spirit makes me feel somewhat calmer. I love this song, even though it is only a short tune. Listening to this song gives you an idea of what the element of spirit is like. I can't find very accurate words to describe this element, and the kind of atmosphere the music creates when you listen to it, but I'm sure you guys can think of what I mean, or get an idea of it.

Nocturne of Shadow is somewhat unusual song. It starts off all gloomy and unhappy with the background music going from a low tone to a high tone and repeating once. But after it repeats, the background music changes, and starts a not-so-scary, and somewhat happy ending part of the song. I love this song because of this change in the middle of the song.

The first part represents the scary part of darkness and night. We all can understand this. Night and darkness can make people scared. If not, they can make an unwelcoming kind of atmosphere, and it tends to make other things much more scarier then they are. This might not exactly make sense, but I hope you know what I mean. For example, if you saw a monster at midday or midnight, which one would be more scarier? Why do horror movies always get to the scary points at night? (or mostly)

The second part represents the beauty of darkness. I love this part so much. Darkness doesn't always mean negative things. In my opinion, one way or another, there are good things and bad things about everything in this world. This half of the song shows that darkness also has it's good parts. This is extremely hard to talk about. I just can't describe it. Not even close. to doing it. But, I just want to say that I love darkness. It calms me down. I'm not talking about horror movies or anything. I'm talking about the lack of light, the moon, the colour of the sky. It's so beautiful. I like to have me-time at night. It's like the only way I can feel happy.
