Midna and Link made a great pair in Twilight Princess.

He seemed to care for her, like when she was in a near-death experience after the Lakebed Temple, Link helped her get to Zelda!

Even when he found out what the fused shadows could do in that scary lanayru scene, he still helped her get them.

That first frame is made of epic win.

For a gossip stone thing, I would have someone hear a Gossip stone say that he heard Link liked a certain one best. Then cut to Link holding his sword, and the stone having all kinds of cuts in it. Link says "Tell me more." And the stone says "No. Please."
