too young to play zelda... scarey?

guess what i am 11 years old and i played twilight princess i got it for my 11th birthday, and after slaying ganon i noticed it said 12+, so i was too young too play it... but maybe this thing was because of those scary redeads that make weird noises and scare you!

and same with OoT the wallmasters and floormasers they scared me kinda but i completed it. so what are the scariest zelda games, and should zelda age be 7+ ?

My first zelda game was MM, I was 5 years and as I remember the scariest was to take the bosses so I do think that 12+ match for TP becouse it is a little creepy in the twilight relam. xD

When I was small my family had an N64 with OoT and I was such a wuss that I wouldn't dare try to get across Hyrule field because those skeletons came up at night and there was no way of hiding from them . I got over that eventually.

I suggest this thread should be moved (to general Zelda)? Since it is not really a theory or concerned with theorizing.

Anyway:
I guess the 12+ rating for TP comes from the blood stains on the doors/roadblocks the Bulbins used in Kakariko. OoT also had blood, I think we all rember that. Maybe people just got more touchy on this subject over time.*shrugs*

Or maybe Mindna running around topless in her real form is to blame. ;p

I started playing zelda games when I was 3 & the first game that I played was Oot I'm only scared of those freaking Redeads & then when WW came I bought & their was a temple full of those scary things that one should be 16+

Of all the Zelda games, "The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask" has the darkest atmosphere and most disturbing moments, closely followed by the bearer of the silver medal, "The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess". I played Majora's Mask when I was 12, and it creeped me out. A few times, tears sprang in my eyes.
It is now four years later, though, and the game doesn't really frighten me now.

I played MM when I was about five barely scared me but what can I say if you had two strokes & two surgeries when your a baby nothing will creep you out

When I was younger, I used to be afraid of ReDead's in OoT and tWW, but that went away. I think the most disturbing scene in the entire Zelda-franchise is the creepy Ilia-scene in TP.

And LMAO at the dancing ReDead movie. I really need to play MM some time.

I think the age suggestions have more to do with the fact that Zelda games require some level of skill in the realms of logic and problem-solving. I'm not saying that no one under the age on the box should or could play the game and enjoy it, but that it's a general suggestion, much in the way some board games and books have recommended ages.

Me, too. You don't even know. I was terrified of the Stalchildren. Absolutely terrified. When I got the Hylian Shield, I would just crouch down and wait until morning. I would always ask my brother to make the run from Kokiri Forest to Castle Town.

And as soon as the sky started turning orange, I would freak out. xD Not anymore, though.

Heh... When I was little, those hands from the celling in OoT used to scare the s**t out of me. These days. however, Zelda isn't scary...

yeah the floor/wallmasters those hand things, used to scare me alot when i played OoT the first time, i think the whole forest temple freaked me out a little bit. maybe not afraid but it made me very tense.

i still hate them though, annoying things.

I played OOT when I was 6 and the only thing I found scary were the redeads...

In OoT I found the Poes scary when I was younger, but only in the forest temple when they're in the pictures, but the ones that aren't scary are like WW and PH basically the toon games, they just funny mainly.

What do you mean by the great fairy, as far as I remember she is fully dressed, uses perfectly good language and granted me the spin attack, so why would she be 12+ ?

I remember a cousin of mine would make jokes of her boobs in OOT.

When i was little, the only thing that was scary in OoT was the boss Gohma. but now, i just laugh at the bad-graphic spider.

And i played OoT first when i was 6/7 ish, and found none of it to be even slightly scary, as i didn't with all the rest of the Zelda series games

Redeads are no where near as bad as OoT an MM. If they choked Link like in those, maybe they would be. It's probably Teen because Midna makes strange noises on Wolf Link and
