Re: too young to play zelda... scarey?
Forest Temple was pretty eerie (freaking wall masters) , and the Shadow Temple...
Let's not forget the eerie wailing that was the dungeon music, the bloodstained torture devices lying around, the undead monsters.... and the Dead Hand. *shudders*

Re: too young to play zelda... scarey?
Pretty much the only things that SCARED THE **** OUT OF ME were the giant spiders from TP...i'm so arachnaphobic, so pretty much every time I cam accross one i hesitated, and when i fought it, i just kept slashing and slashing, (in wolf case, biting,) doing a spin attack whenever i could...
The boss of the ToT wasn't too bad... seeing as you hardly had to get close to it. But seriously, the most horrible thing occured last night....i was doing the forest temple during a playthrough, and i came to this room where there were holes in the floor, and i went down....it was dark as hell, and right after i landed a (can you guess?) giant freaking spider comes straight up to me and attacks....i killed it immediatly, but i SCREAMED LIKE HELL... Despite all of this, i'm glad they put them in TP, because it gives me a chance to face my only physical fear. |

Re: too young to play zelda... scarey?
OOT is scary because of Navi. The 12+ rating is because of Great Fairy fan service.

Re: too young to play zelda... scarey?
Yeah, it depends on the kid, but I think the 12+ rating is cause redeads and skeletons with a combination of possibly the creepy illia cutscene with dark magic, or/and the creepy/dark stuff during the game. they couldn't rate it E for everyone cause five year olds afraid of their own shadow would play about twenty minutes of it and then wet their pants and complain and their parents would sue the game raters.

Re: too young to play zelda... scarey?
By the time the more "mature" Zeldas game out i was already 17....so no nothin in there really made me stop and think about rating wise...(aside from those Great Fairies in OoT)
TP is a little mature but not too bad...if i was a parent, i would not think twice about letting someone 7 years and up to play that game..(albiet they may not understand much) but as a game its pretty harmless...nothing too violent..there is that scene that commences after obtaining the third fused shadow that may freak out younger players but other than that...really...not a big deal...

Re: too young to play zelda... scarey?
eh heh..
When I was 10 i was scared to go into every single dungeon,I'd always be too scared of the monsters. XD Even now,the forest temple creeps me out,and I always get scared when I'm in one of the rooms where wallmasters jumps down on you..

Re: too young to play zelda... scarey?
The only thing that really scared me in video games was the music. The forest temple in OoT creeped me out.
