Anybody ever thought of posting their own story treatments? Huh Hello.

Everyone ignores me

Luke kywalker could work. But I also imagined Link with some frodo characteristics

Re: Zelda Movie: Volume III

Wrong with IGN Link.

Link was a 23+ year old man,
not a boy.

Was wearing a flimsy and thin green material
than something a bit more original,
eg - could of been a less saturated green.

Ringmail was too big, was practically earrings.
Wasn't even weathered down. Very shiny.

Overall, I just thought the costume wasn't very
creative, and doesn't flex anything outside
the cosplay outfits.

I'm saying, that a lot of people
think that the IGN trailer was the height
of what a Live-action could achieve, in any aspect.
One of which is the clothe design.

Either the crew lacked the imagination
to adapt the design any further
that strictly to what they've seen,
or they just couldn't afford anything else.

And I'm going to agree on the latter,
because after all, it was only a few guys with
some pretty decent production skills,
They weren't exactly gifted a Hollywood budget,
they were given practically nothing to work with.

Well I too agree that it was because of the fact that it was little quick thing. However, I will not budge on the fact that the long green hat just looks awkward in real life. Sure it fits well into a video game, but on a real person, it looks kinf of rediculous. And no, Link not wearing the hat is not an option.

If it works in a game, it'll work in real life.
There is nothing that really separates the pair
other than convenience.

For example, it might be a inconvenience
that the hair would have to be shaped and glued
to the hat , to keep the casual look it has on the games.
But if you see what you like, then it's all good.

The hat has only looked silly so far, because it's been
stretched over the head just to keep it from falling off.
I haven't really seen any that has it half way up the head,
like it does in the games.

There are experts in hair, make-up and costume that are the ones
that worry about this. Indiana Jones had different hats for close ups and long shots. And at one point Harrison Ford stapled the hat to his head in 'The Last Crusade' because it kept falling off.

So just have faith in the wardrobe and hair department for that...mkay?

Re: Zelda Movie: Volume III

I get the point about the hat.
How much did IGN spend on the "trailer"?
(wat else can u call it anyways?)
But if the producers get the idea right would we complain about the hat being bad?
And

BTW its CHAINmail. only a very high ranking knight in the dark ages could have afforded
any mail less that 1.5 cm in diameter. and if you did you would keep real good care of it.
Aragorn uses sparkling mail at helms deep and those were made by a professional blacksmith.
my point is, the chainmail wouldn't be rusted or worn down. maybe dusty but not deteriorated.

They could of quite possibly not paid them at all,
and the production team 'rainfall' decided to do it
to promote themselves, and very well so, now that
EVERYONE has see it.

Mkay, but still, hell a huge mail to be wearing, Link.
And whatever the make, still too shiny.

Protagonists usually wear natural earthy colors - Brown , Green.
So something too shiny would look out of place.

Re: Zelda Movie: Volume III

Here's also a qestion. How long should a Zelda movie be? 3 hours is too long (Lord of the Rings sure but thats LOTR). 2 hrs 30 min? Or should it be like kill bill, 2 volume movie, each 2hrs/2 1/2 hrs long?

I don't think that's really decidable.
You write a story as long as it needs to be.
You don't write around how long it's going to be.

Every film varies in length.
And a long film isn't necessarily a better film.

Re: Zelda Movie: Volume III

Long enough but not too long.
I think it should be enough to be a plot but not to much battle that it gets old.
how to do that...
Hmph, I dunno

Should be more of a character driven plot. Now that is a debate nest to liv action vs cgi (I'm neutral on that). Link start out as reckless selfless boy to levelheaded hero.

Re: Zelda Movie: Volume III

Solely for this thread,
I thought I'd show you some 'movie art'
I sketch up now and then to share with you.

Todays one is of a 'Honix'
From ALttP.

I put this here, as I don't think it's worth
taking up room in the Art section. So easy on mods. =].

Re: Zelda Movie: Volume III

I know BMB "says" they're doing a movie (but I doubt they are.)
Link evidently has a love interest in that movie.
should he have one in this. if so who should it be and how should it develop.

BTW Nice art Fergus!

They are doing a movie. There was a trailer, then a long absence, but they recently confirmed they're still working on it and that there will be a new trailer shortly.

Re: Zelda Movie: Volume III

I'd like to think that by everyones definition of 'Movie'
they mean, a profitable official theatrical release by a distributer
and licensed by Nintendo?

Because if you do, then BMB's is not a 'Movie'
and is no more than a fan film.

Re: Zelda Movie: Volume III

So here it is, the
long and dreaded BMB finishes new 'Hero of Time'
Trailer. It just makes me like the IGN one that much better.

BMB Finishes - The Hero of Time New Trailer

I could rant about how much is wrong with this trailer,
but I don't think there's enough space in the forum to do that,
plus I'd like to hear other peoples thoughts first...
