The Owl in OoT

The owl: Good advise for your journey or evil follower of ganon?

When you leave the forest he tells you to go to the castle to see the princess, sounds good right? same thing the big tree said? Could it be that he is actually spying on you and reporting back to ganon?

Then later he talks to you on the top of death mountain, and flies you to the bottom. I don't know how hes spying on you here, probably making a checklist. (oh look, link got the spitual stone of fire, one more before he opens the door.)

After that, outside of lake hylia the vile creature is hooting at you again and informs you of the zoras, which if you were like me you already visited and got the scale. I think the owl has been following you yet again.

You become an adult, and ganon, aided by his owl partner, runs in and somehow knows you opened the door and got the stones.

You dont see the owl for your adult adventures, instead sheik helps you to get to the end of the game, obviously good since good comes of it.

The owl, who spied on you in the well and later at the desert colossus, comes and talks to you again, spying on you to know that you have awakened the last sage and returns to tell ganon one last time. You also see the owl flying around when you clear some of the dungeons as an adult, telling me that he spies on you even then.

Sorry if this has been posted before.
What do you think of the ominous owl?

I hope you're in jest, because that's the silliest theory I've ever heard! XD Gave me a good chuckle, though.

Re: The Owl in OoT

Hmm all laughter aside.... it made me ponder. This wasn't the first time "the owl" has spied on Link. In Link's Awakening there was an owl, he was wise, knew everything about the island, told you what to do next, and he was a messenger/gaurdian of the island and the Windfish. Im not saying these two owls are one and the same, however, I do believe both of them work for the good of Hyrule and your adventures. (In the OoT the Comic) the Owl was stated to be a friend of the Great Deku Tree.

(getting a little off topic...) The Owl and Navi are a lot alike. They have helpful information, make sure you are focused on the plan ahead, work for a higher power (the deku tree), and they act like a gaurdian of some sort.

The Owl, Kaepora Gaebora, is an incarnation of Raru the Sage of Light. He is not a spy of Ganon.

Hm, I know what you mean. I doubt it though. And incarnation of the Sage of Light? Never heard of that before but then again, What do I know?

*sigh* that's an old theory that really doesn't have much to back it up, I still don't see why Raru would take the form of an owl... anyway (in jest) I noticed that the first time you meet the Kaepora Gaebora the message he gives you and the cinema sene take so long that you have to roll to make it to Hyrule Castle before the sun sets, could it be that he is trying to get you locked out so that you will be killed by the stal childs? (/jest) I honestly think that Kaepora Gaebora works for the forces of good, no matter how annoying he is.

This makes me laugh. I suppose you think that the owl in MM is evil too when he gives you one of the most helpful things in the game, the Song of Soaring.

That's wrong. The Gossip Stone says that Kaepora Gaebora is a reincarnation of an ancient sage. That means that he's a sage that's already lived, not one currently living.

Re: The Owl in OoT

It was some what of a joke, i did try to put it into humorous context and make it sound more serious than it actually was, in reality i dont think the owl is really good or evil. He is just trying to help destiny along.

Re: The Owl in OoT

Yeah, he could have been another sage. WW has shown us that there were more sages than just the six.

Re: The Owl in OoT

Well, it was an interesting though, but there is no way Kaepora Gaebora would serve as a henchman for Ganon, he's too clever to be hoodwinked by an evil force. Also, he was a great help for any newbs to the Zelda series, like i was when i first obtained OoT.

Re: The Owl in OoT

Rauru is the only one of the first seven sages that is still alive, so the owl can't be a reincarnation of him. But he could be a reincarnation of one of the other first sages.

Re: The Owl in OoT

The owl is not a reincarnation of Rauru... like said, he is a reincarnantion of a sage that is already dead. I don;t know which, but maybe with some google searching I can find out...

I bet the owl is evil, because in the end of Jabu-Jabu's belly he takes you for a ride to Hyrule Castle. He intentionallly makes you late so that you can't stop Ganondorf from attacking the Market.

..What are you talking about? Ganondorf does NOT attack the market at all. And the owl never carries you from Jabu-Jabu's Belly...he never even flew INTO there O_o

Do you have ANY idea of what you're talking about? None of that stuff ever even happened! I think you should check your facts next time you decide to post something like this....

You have me lost, wherever you were heading with that statement....
