Who is Link's Uncle?

WHO IS LINK'S UNCLE?
Ya'll know Link from ALttP right? Well, he doesn't have any parents and lives with his uncle. So, who are his parents? It doesn't talk about any other aunts or uncles so that means that there was only his uncle and his mom in their family when they were kids. I think Link's uncle was Link from wind waker and his mom was Arryl. Arryl probably married some pirate and moves away, leaving him with her brother Link (the uncle). This is a possibility, I mean, why else would Link's uncle go out and try to save hyrule?

Re: Who is Link's Uncle?

It's a good idea Mondo Man, seeing as though Wind Waker did come before Link To The Past. I think that explains why his death was prominent in Link To The Past and why he had the sword in the first place. If Zelda was your sister in Link To The Past, then it would make sense for your uncle to go after her in the castle. Great theory!

Re: Who is Link's Uncle?

His uncle was a knight, so he had to do the knightly thing of saving princesses from a wizard with a crazy name. Then that would mean that Zelda is a princess. I never knew that.

Re: Who is Link's Uncle?

Well, I guess it could work, but I think that "A Link to the Past" takes place a long time after "The Wind Waker". Also, Link's uncle looks a lot more like Mario than the Hero of Winds.

Re: Who is Link's Uncle?

You're absolutely right. He does look like mario. If you put a red hat on him, he would be mario! But, i thought this was a good idea. Remember, there isn't a real exact timeline, only theories. So, for all we know, it could happen!

Re: Who is Link's Uncle?

I agree with Ogmios22188. LTTP took place long after WW, so long that "The events were obscured by legend". Great idea though, your on the right track. Perhaps they are descendants of Aryll or Link, hmm.

Re: Who is Link's Uncle?

Most likely, and definately descendants of the Hero of Time, because it specifically says that Link is a descendant of the Knights of Hyrule.

Id just like to state two things...Link's uncle never died...(this may be a spoiler for some of you so be careful)...after beating the game, you will see a cinematic view of Hyrule and all of the people how their lives have changed from Link's wish to the Triforce. In one moment you see Link and Link's uncle raising their swords up at the sky....if he's dead, he looks pretty alive to me won't you say?

Sorry for bashin' you man, but I just felt like we needed the facts we have straight. So far, I think this is a good theory.

Re: Who is Link's Uncle?

Accually, I think he did die. He just got raised from the dead when Link wished on the Triforce. At least, thats what I always thought. Its possible that he was alive the whole time, I guess.

Re: Who is Link's Uncle?

My problem with your last statement was, in ALttP, why didn't Link wish for his parents back too?

Re: Who is Link's Uncle?

My gues is he wasn't too specific with his wish. My gues is he wished how life was before Ganon affected the lives of many people. So if Link's parents died because of Ganon, they would be alive from the wish, if they weren't then the Goddesses held their part of the bargain.

Re: Who is Link's Uncle?

Exactly what BGS said. He wished that everything would be restored to the way it was before Ganon ruined their lives.

Re: Who is Link's Uncle?

So when did OOT happen, because you hear off his mother being killed and that the forest people bringing him up, so maybe when he defeated Ganon and went back in time, he just moved on and live with his uncle.

Re: Who is Link's Uncle?

Lttp takes place hundreds of years if not thousands after Ocarina of Time(most likely anyway). The Links of those games are two different Links. So, Lttp Link dd not go back in time to live with his uncle. He did not even have the ability to go back in time.

Like epyon said, OoT was 1000's of years before ALttP. (well, unless a legend can become obscured in less then 1000 years), So we are talking about 2 different Links here.

Re: Who is Link's Uncle?

Yes, but my question is, who do you think Link's uncle is, and how do you think he will affect other games, if he's in them at all?

Re: Who is Link's Uncle?

I doubt he will be in any other game. There probably wonk be anymore games with that Link either, since Miyamoto said each time Ganon rises a new hero named Link is born to defeat him. As for who he is: Well, he's his uncle. Links parents probably died, and he was left in the care of his uncle, who was likely also of the knights line. Hope that answers your question. If it doesn't, then I'm not sure what your asking.

Re: Who is Link's Uncle?

There may not be a timeline anyway, except for Oot and MM. They may just be the same story, just told differently, that's why Gannon is in most of the games.

Re: Who is Link's Uncle?

You know how i said the stories may have been retold and obscured over and over again? Well, has it ever occured to you that, except for OoT, they may have just changed the main parent guardian? WW: Grandma, ALttP: Uncle. It's kinda funny that way.
