Link's best Guide

Unpopular opinion...but I really did NOT like Midna. Sure after a while she kinda grew on me, but Navi holds a special place in my heart xD. No matter how annoying the "HEY!" or the "LOOK!" got, it was something to laugh about and poke fun at afterwards. Also Tatl was kinda cool, though nothing replaces the original, ever annoying Navi for me

for some reason you left her out. but my favorite guide was definitely Tatyl .

I actually like Navi (don't kill me ). She really isn't that annoying. I think that people have greatly exaggerated how annoying she is. She just says "Hey, Listen, etc." a few times throughout the storyline (mostly at the beginning) and when you Z-target something. It can be a little much, but I've never been like "OMFG!!1! STFU NAVI!!!11!1!!!" It's really not that bad.

I feel sorry for Navi. Almost everyone hates her, but she was Link's best friend (in OoT of course). I think that if Link replied to this thread, he would have a thing or two to say to all you Navi-haters. I respect Navi as Link's friend and guide in OoT, and the precedent for his future guides.

As for Midna (obviously the most popular choice), I think she's a bit overrated. Now don't get me wrong, I like Midna (it was nice for Link's guide to have a deep storyline for once), but I don't worship the ground she floats above like most TP fans. Honestly, I find her a bit annoying at some parts. While I like her personality and her "voiced" talking, I find the noise she makes when you dash as a wolf to be be extremely annoying , way more annoying than Navi. And she does it all the time. I hate running as a wolf in TP because of her stupid little grunt.

So, while I do like Midna, I hold a certain higher respect for the underappreciated Navi.

great post! I agree 100%! Navi, while she could be annoying, it was always something you could laugh about afterwards. And I thought I was alone in thinking Midna was overrated

As much as I prefer Midna, as a GUIDE I thought Navi did the best job. She really was helpful for guidance against enemies, and in general.

Midna is still my favorite Zelda character, she was more of Link's friend than a guide. She had a big part in the story, unlike Navi, but as a guide, Navi gets my vote.
