Are you my mother?

I have a question, and its probably been asked/questioned in the past. Where are the mothers of our main charactors? Link is always living solo (Legend of Zelda and Link's Adventure I believe), with his uncle (OoA and OoS, I read he lived with his aunt and uncle in the comic, and ALttP), OoT and MM we know that his mother died at the foot of the Great Deku Tree giving her son, Link, to him, and tWW he lives with his grandmother. The only time I have ever seen a referance to his parents would have to be OoT (stated above) and ALttP (the comic)

Re: Are you my mother?

There probably aren't any parents in the game because of the connection witht he main character that you're supposed to feel, if there was to be a parent introduced that you didn't connect with it wouldn't work out. Aso in the latest games Link could never really grow up if a parent was out watching over him, he is out on his own using whatever he has to save the day.

So they are all probably dead or seperated from their son because they sent him off. I would say more liekly dead with TWW considering if either of his parents are alive and had any value of tradition they would have been there on his birthday when he got they hero's clothing style.

Re: Are you my mother?

I must agree with ZeldaFreak++. In stories such as this, there are never characters that are introduced just to "be the parents." They must be developed and be involved in the story, and if the person writing the story or making the game doesn't really want to deal with them, or create and explore those types of relationships and mix them into an adventure, they usually just leave them out. Usually, they may be mentioned, but that's only because they help the story along.

The other thing is, people don't usually seem to notice. Granted, there are some people (like you, BigGoronSword ) that do wonder, but most people playing adventure games will be more concerned with the adventure than the family relationships.

Re: Are you my mother?

They should help WW2 along by having Link go find his parents wherever/whenever they are.

Because it would make a lot of sense after the whole end sequence revolved around the land of Hyrule and the Kingdom, for Link and Tetra to look for Link's parents. Yeah

If any of the Links had any longing for their parents, which they don't nor ever will casue they never sya what they think or how they feel cause you are Link, it already would have come into play.

Re: Are you my mother?

Link: Okay mom, I'm going off to the next temple now.
Mother: Don't forget your Medicine of Life.
Link: Stop telling me that! I told you five times I have it.
Mother: Why do you always have to be adventuring? You could get killed! You should let me set you up with that nice girl next door.
Link: I'm going now. Bye.
Mother: Don't forget your hood! It's windy outside!

Ugh. I see why they don't mention his mother. The last thing Zelda needs is nagging.

Re: Are you my mother?

hahahah good point. I know gardians (such as your aunts, uncles, and grandmothers) aren't your mother, the only compasion Ive seen from an adult is Link's grandmother from tWW. oh well, theres no biggie. Im imagining Link working on the farm (b4 he gets a sword & shield and b4 he goes on his adventure) a wolfos attacks your...umm sheep so you have to gather them in their pen. when the wolfos tries to attack you, your father jumps out and slashes the wolfos. Your father could train you and such, just like Orca did on Outset Island....just an idea.
