I did like Navi, the first playthrough I asked her about any new enemy I met, just out of curiosity. I thought she was more useful than annoying.
Having played
OoT many times, now I find her somewhat annoying. Though only the things she says automatically get on my nerves. Such as, "You can open a door by standing in front of it and pressing A" or "Watch for the shadows of monsters that hang from the ceiling!" Sure, that was useful the first playthrough, but now... The "Hey! Listen!" thing never really bothered me too much. Just a random noise in the game. (My phone says "Hey! Hey! Listen!" when I get an SMS.

That's a good point. Sure, if I don't know where to go, it's nice to have someone tell me, but doing it all the time without even giving the chance to find your own way takes away from the fun. Having the guides make it feel like the game is pushing you forward, with whoeverguide telling you what to do next, and constantly reminding you if you go take some time off.
