Basic Terminology & Abbreviations

A growing trend on Zelda Wiki.org is to abbreviate "Freshly Picked Tingle's Rosey Rupeeland" as just TRR.
I was the first one to do this. And then, for some reason, everyone else started following suit.

Here is the first time I used it: May 17, 2008

A month later it caught on: June 25, 2008

I'm not saying that I invented the abbreviation for the whole internet. I know for a fact that I didn't. But I came up with it independently and was the first to use it on Zelda Wiki.org.

It is also used here under the "Spinoffs and Cameos" forum summary.

SK - Skull Kid
HMS - Happy Mask Salesman
TotG - Tower of the Gods
LADX - Link's Awakening DX(Deluxe)
GoD - Genral of Darkness (Onox)
SoS - Sorceress of Shadows (Veran)
GS - Great Sea
GF - Great Flood
DT - Deku Tree
LJJ - Lord Jabu Jabu
LLR - Lon Lon Ranch

I can't think of any more right now, but I bet there are.

Sorry for being nit-picky but you have got the abbreviations for The Wind Waker and The Minish Cap wrong. If you look carefully the games are called The Wind Waker and The Minish Cap. Therefore the correct abbreviations are TWW and TMC respectively rather than WW and TM. The 'The's are part of the title and therefore are part of the abbreviation. Also the ZU website has the games abbreviated as TWW and TMC on the games bar at the top of the page. I know it sounds like nit-picking but I couldn't possibly leave the thread without saying anything about the errors.

P.S: you spell 'Rupeeland' wrong as well. Sorry, I'll stop now.

I think it has already been mentioned, but what about CE for Zelda: Collectors Edition? It comes up quite regularly so I think it should be on the list.

Others I can think of are:

*VC - Virtual Console (part of the Wii Shop channel, 4 Zelda games are sold on the Virtual Console and there much discussion over MM being released on it - I think that makes it relevent enough to Zelda to be included on the list)
*ZG&W- Zelda Game and Watch
*SBB - Super Smash Bros (the first Super Smash Bros game, it features Link as a playable character as well as other Zelda references)
*SSBM - Super Smash Bros Melee (the second Super Smash Bros game. Features Link, Zelda/Sheik, Young Link and Ganondorf as playable characters as well as many other Zelda references and cameos)
*SSBB - Super Smash Bros Brawl (the latest in the Smash Bros series. Features Link, Zelda/Sheik, Ganondorf and Toon Link as playable characters. Also featured are a few Zelda stages, many peices of Zelda music and trophies and stickies depicting many Zelda characters, objects and places)
*SC2 - Soul Caliber 2 (a fighting game by Namco, the Gamecube version features Link as a playable character)

I ocasionally refer to the Trident of Power as TroP, if you wnat to add that. I think it's a usefull abbreviation.

I guess ST for Spirit Tracks should be added too....

MS could also refer to the Mirror Shield, but other than that, I can't think of any useful things that could be added.

etc, etc and so on.

Maybe for consoles such as

NES - Nintendo Entertainment System

SNES - Super Nintendo

N64 - Nintendo 64

And so on.

I had absolutley no clue there were so many abbreviations? I mean, there's one for Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland?? HoW- Hero of Winds.

Oh and would it be TLoZ and TAoL. You dont have to change it but then we could refer the the series as a whole as LoZ and the game TLoZ

Don't know if its really what your looking for but Link was a exclusive character in soul calibur 2 for gamecube. You might wanna add that in ''Other Appearances''
