Do you use a guide?

Whether it be one you bought from the store, or one off the internet, do you use a guide to beat your Zelda games? Or maybe you just use one to get all the heart pieces/golden bugs/etc.....

Once I finish the story line, I'll get an online guide to get everything I missed.

Nope. I only bought the Zelda TP special hardcover guide as a collector's item. Still sealed. I'm doing the same with MGS4's special hardcover guide.

I play the entire game first, no guide, then I play it a second time and do it with the guide, and yeah, just to get all the extra stuff.

Sometimes I never use the guide, I just wanted the poster inside. ^_^ And yeah, as a collectors item like Mafoofoo said.

The only guide I have is a TP guide to get the extras, but otherwise, no, unless I'm super-mega stuck or something, which doesn't happen very often.

I like to do it all by myself, (eksept in Zelda 2).

I do for only three conditions.
1. I get stuck and have spent at least a hour trying to figure out what to do.
2. I have beaten the game and want to get all the extra items.
3. Its a game like Age of mythology and cheating makes the game really fun to play.

NEVAH! Not even if I'm stuck, I'll just have to try and try until I figure it out.

I'm pretty much like you all. I'll use it if I'm stuck, but I also use guides to get the extras. There is one exception to this and it's when I was little and first got OoT. I got a guide with it and beat it using the guide.

I always beat the game first. Then I'll buy a guide and go back and check things out. I never use the guide until the main villain has been defeated.

If I'm stuck for more than ten miniutes on a problem, I use the online guides.

Sometimes I'll use a guide if I get stuck for more than 25 minutes.

I don't cheat/ use a guide on my first play through (unless its the GTA games, then i'm constantly using cheats) but i try to get as much as i can (hearts etc) and then on my second play through i'll use a guide. I've got the TP hard cover guide and i'm currently using that guide step for step

The onlytime i use a guide is in the water temple on OoT.

I admit it. Strategy guides and walkthroughs are a guilty pleasure of mine. I'm not hardcore enough! Well, mostly I'm just impatient and am all too ready to move on from where I am as efficiently as possible.

No, they ruin the game and seem to rob me of my money's worth.

Reading a guide to play the game is the same as just reading the guide.

I dont use a guide, it totaly spoils the game for you. Only time i would use a guide is if i am stuck and i aint got a clue what to do, and it leaves me no choice but to look at the guide to help me out, but even then i will just look at what i need to do and thats it, will not look any further.

i only use guide to get the heart peices.
