Best Zelda Memory

What's your best memory, or memories of Zelda as a whole? What part of any game in the series comes to mind when you think 'Zelda'?

Mine has to be stepping out onto Hyrule Field for the first time on Ocarina as a kid. It was huge then! So much to explore! I was too young to take orders from a tree or an owl then, and I just found myself exploring all of Hyrule without care! It was so big and amazing! So much to do before you're even into the game!

Re: Best Zelda Memory

Probably playing Ocarina of Time aswell, as that was my first Zelda game.

My favourite part of it had to be waking up as adult Link, as that's when things start getting good imo.

Re: Best Zelda Memory

Watching the movie on the collector's disk (my first (4) Zelda(s)!) and listening to that godly music (Kondo-sama's a genius!), seeing everything zelda at once! Then there was the first time I beat a zelda, and watching those credits run by. And, Finally, actually getting past the first level in OoT... And just being immersed in it all... My heart beat so fast...

I'd like it if someone commented, even if it's old: http://www.zeldauniverse.net/forums/...ing-flood.html
I changed my name; Deku Prince sounds weird without the knowledge that it's a character in a fanfic I tried...

Re: Best Zelda Memory

Mine was playing A Link to the Past in the early 90s. I'd play it every day with my cousin and this was back before internet walkthroughs, so exploring was much more inevitable. Finding heart pieces and other secrets, finding your way through dungeons, battling bosses, all of that stuff. It was awesome. I was about 8 or 9. It was cool.

Re: Best Zelda Memory

Playing LoZ on the NES and just exploring the overworld. What a great feeling when you would burn a bush or bomb a wall and discover a secret. Great times!!

Re: Best Zelda Memory

Mine was being little and watching my mom find her way through the lost woods in Oot. That was cool and its what made me borrow the game and start playing because it was so cool.

Re: Best Zelda Memory

Mine is actually getting OoT. I was so excited when it was coming out. My friend and I would talk about it every day, for well over a year before it was released.

When it finally came time for it's release, we had it pre-ordered at Toys R Us, and we went to pick it up, but my mom decided to keep it for Christmas. So I had to wait! My friend got it first day though, and I was so jealous! lol

After much begging, my mom gave it to me early (some time in December) and I finally got to play.

That's my best memory though, because I have never been so excited over a video game. I guess that just goes to show you how much I loved ALttP when it was out.

Re: Best Zelda Memory

Marin from Link's Awakening was very memorable. I remember getting chocked up when Koholint disappeared. Also the piece of power and acorn of defense that were drop items. I wonder why those were scrapped.

A lot of stuff from Ocarina of Time comes to mind when I think of that game. I played it more times than any other Zelda.

Sailing in The Wind Waker.

Rolling as a Goron and swimming as a Zora in Majora's Mask.

Tingle in the games he's in, making me laugh.

Dimitri in the Oracle games, with his ability to destroy all enemies in my path. Also Din and Nayru, whose powers were interesting.

All the sword skills in The Minish Cap, as well as the kinstones. That was a nice feature I'd like to see return.

The great wide world of the original Legend of Zelda. You can go pretty much anywhere you want, provided you survive the trip, in that game right from the start.

The interesting boss fights, as well as Linebeck and his boat from Phantom Hourglass. I liked the dungeons better in TWW, but the bosses better in PH.

The awesome power of four in FSA, as well as the fire rod. The ultimate weapon of destruction that is the fire rod!

One good Horseback battle in Twilight Princess, as well as sumo wrestling. Also the Arbiter's Grounds and Snowpeak areas. There were good sword skills in that game too.
