Link's Bad Habbit

While playing Master Quest one evening, I noticed sonething intresting. Playing as young link, I pulled out the sling shot to torture some of Kakariko Village's chickens for kicks, and I noticed link's thumb nail. My first though was 'wow, I love the detail in this game'. But I noticed it again, and thought that it was a bit short. Maybe Link bites his nails?
  • It's a really common bad habbit.
  • A young child with no authority figure to force him to trim his nails is not likely to do it himself.
  • Knowing that the fate of an entire world rests in your hands alone is bound to cause some stress.

I just found this little quirk intresting. If you've got a copy of Master Quest, take a look for yourself sometime. I'm not sure if this same thing holds true for OoT, but I don't know why it wouldn't.

If you find any other intresting quirks about Link (or any other character for that matter) feel free to share them!

Edit: Just noticed another one. On my copy of Master Quest, the color of the Kokiri people's fairys is never the same. If you take a look at a Kokiri's fairy, and then walk into a building or into another map area, and then go back and look at that same Kokiri's fairy, it's a different color.

It's probably just a design detail, nothing more.

Probably, but it's intresting to think about. You never know what the programmers had on their mind. Take the paper airplane in Ikana canyon, for example.

Sorry, I just have an eye for wierd little details. That's why it takes me forever to finish a game. I want to know it front and back.

I've never seen the paper plane with my own eyes, only in pictures, but that to me seems more like a quirk than Link's fingernails, perhaps if they were long then we could ask if he's overly feminine, or if they were just the right length why he doesn't bite them in times of great stress.

As I stated earlier, I have a very keen eye for fine detail. I almost never miss a beat. I just though that some of those other OCD people like me would enjoy a tidbit such as this. Maybe I'm just wierd. ^_^

I never noticed Link's nail, but I probably didn't pay too much attention to his finger nails, I mainly pay attention to what I am shooting at with the sling shot. But kind of neat thought though.

LOL. That's cool! Reminds me of the fact that Link grows a few inches in WW and TP.
I liked the pictures about Ocarina in arbiter's grounds. They're Ganon and link missing the master sword, holding the Hylian shield. Then the Majora statue in WW's earth temple, the Rauru picture in ganon's castle from OoT. I like Barnes' face when you do stuff to him in TP.

Yeah, Barns is fun to mess with.

^ Hey Noticing small things that other people miss is a special gift. You're not weird, no matter how many people think that its just a designer thing. So keep your head up high and notice the things that meet your eye. You might discover something that hasn't been answered before in the world of science. ^_^

I have noticed that his fingernails were a bit short, and I doubt Link clips his own nails. (Maybe Saria did it for him? I mean, in the OoT comic, she pratically raised him from birth!)

Is it just me or does Mido have a beard (Or one of the fat Kokiri). I just seem to remember a patch of orange on Mido's chin...

Another thing, in the Gibido house, the girl doesn't seem to look like she's from the Middle Ages, which is where the game takes place. She appears to be wearing the modern blouse and stockings some small girls wear.

LE GASP!!!

What if that science guy from the house had actually warped himself to the 21st century and adopted a child and brought her back to this time period? This explains her weird "I want to go home...I want father and I to go home..."

Check out the MM character screen-shots and compare her with all the others. Notice how everyone else seem to fit with the Medieval era? (Well, except Mrs. Mayor who looks like she's from the 1980's)
