Do you ever wonder...

...how good you are compared to other Zelda fans? I mean how well you play the game and how fast you are at beating it. I've always wondered, am I really good or do I totally stink compared to everyone else? I wish there was someway to know.

I know how you feel. Although I don't feel that way about LoZ specifically, I do feel that way about other things, like science and school.

I felt that way about Super Smash Bros.
Until i played some people and i ended being the best.
but then came online...-_-"
I win of course, but i don't win all the time like i used too with people in real life.
As for Zelda,i really don't care if i'm the best or not.

Well I'm pretty sure I'm not the best at SSBB but I do kinda want to be good at Zelda cause its like the only game that I've really worked hard on to be good. Well when I play with people they say I'm awesome but they aren't exactly pro gamers.

I rather surprised myself this week. I've played OoT several times in the past, but it'd been a couple years since the last time. Last Saturday (a week ago), though, I started it up again, this time Master Quest--and finished today. So I beat OoT with 100% completion on my first time ever with the MQ version in the span of a week--while working a full-time job, to boot.

Maybe I'm just obsessed?

Are you talking about SSBB or Zelda? How can you play with people in Zelda?

Zelda, I ment that they watch me play. A couple of my friends enjoy watching me play for endless hours so I guess it's entertaining.

Just how good are you then, and which games in particular?

(I'm afraid no one has the patience to watch me play Zelda--that, and I wouldn't like it. People watching me would throw me off my game. )

I suggest a video-taped speedrun of a game, with people trying to see who can do it the fastest while taking the least amount of damage/using the least amount of arrows/using the smallest amount of magic/etc.

That would be interesting.
I suggest LttP.

Um, I don't know good I am, thats what I'm trying to figure out. Which games...well probably OoT and TP but I'm good at other ones too. Ya sometimes it throws me of but when I'm in an important battle sometimes I just have to pause and say don't speak a word to them. Plus it keeps me company so I don't get so bored with myself. Also when I do good its nice to get acnowledgement.

I'm 'ight.

I know the basic characters, and whatnot. Yadda, yadda, etc, etc.

Although don't be surprised if you come up to me, and you're all, "Phantom's are serious business."

And then I reply with, "Oh.. you mean those big things that can't die by Link's first sword?"

Well that's not true, cause I actually know what a Phantom is. But yeah. I'm pretty average, or just below. :]

I think how good of a zelda fan you are is based on your knowledge of the series. If you've played every zelda game and know all it's secrets, if you know what "excuuuuuuuuuuse me princess" is, if you know how pathetic the cd i games are and you still have them just because you're so obsessed with zelda you wanna have all games abaliable, and if you know every thing that is going on in the world of zelda (what does this and that mean, where the triforce come from, etc.) then you're a hardcore fan.

I never really thought about it, nor did I ever really care.

If I had to guess I would say I'm better than the average player (I have been playing for over 15 years now, and I've played through and beaten every game), but it doesn't really matter to me.

I play the games for fun, not for personal fulfillment.

I never really try to play for speed or full completion, although I do like to get all the special quest items. I like to imagine I could whip some of the other fans in a fight, but since the main games are single player, that opportunity doesn't really present it's self.

some place (like gamestop or best buy or something) should hold an LoZ speed-run contest. they'd have a system and a game (idk which game though) for each person, and they'd sit down and just play. that would be awesome.

Playing OoT through with only 3 hearts. No heart containers or heart pieces.
Lots of bottles with fairys and Lonlon milk though!
Currently at Water Temple - Dark Link killed. only 3 deaths myself.
1 to cuccos!
1 in Dodongo's cavern - fire keese.
1 to Phantom Ganon.

There is no better Zelda player then myself in general over the entire series.

Yup, I'm that confident in my abilities. Now, there are people that on a game by game basis are better then me, but I am talking playing hte entire series, overall. Hell, I may record myself playing a Zelda marthon of beating every single game in a row. That would be truly epic.

EDIT: That includes the CDI games, as they were technically supported by Nintendo at release. I always felt you can't disown a game you support just because it flopped.

Yea I wonder this all the time. I offer fellow gamers the control, but they'll tell me to play, they WANT to watch.

I know you can find speed runs and all that, but that's the best, and always done using glitches and such. I'd rather something like a report card to let ya know if you are average, above average, way below average, etc.
