Purple?

Ok In FS, there are four links, correct? I was wondering if anyone has any idea why Nintendo made the fourth link purple. Green=Favore, Blue=Naryu, red=Din (sorry for spelling) purple=? I think they did it because purple looks better with the other colors, but I want to know someone else's opinion.

Don't know... mabye 'cuz Red + Blue = Purple, or 'cuz Nintendo wanted to hint about a new godess...?

Umm... well the Shadow temple is the next temple in OoT. And the colour for that was purple, so yeah...

EDIT: Like, if there were five Link's, the next one would be yellow because it's the Spirit Temple.

Forest Temple = Green
Fire Temple = Red
Water Temple = Blue
Shadow Temple = Purple
Spirit Temple = Yellow

I think yellow would have been nice...

You do, do you? Take a look at this old promotional picture from an article in Nintendo Dream (4/29/06). It shows what's to come of the new "Four Swords DS" game (but it was later to be revealed as a new game called "PH" of course). What was Nintendo thinking of using a Yellow, Orange, and a second Blue Link? Maybe a different kind of Online game (maybe some sort of sequel to "Tetra's Trackers" from FSA). But in the long run, they scrapped that idea (you can see a larger version of the picture here)

As for purple, I usually associate that color to Royalty. Now Link isn't of Royal descent, but he has protected the family on more than a number of occasions.

i did the spirit temple first then the shadow temple

anyways the green tunic was just the normal colour, the red was to protect from fire damage, blue was to breath under water. So purple has his own ability (?) or he has just spent too much time with tingle... you all know what i mean

I think they didn't go with yellow because of a clash with his hair color. When the sprite is made, it would look like his hair was just another part of his hat... but I don't know really, it remains a mystery!

Well, I also had the same theory as Sloths Rule, but he had already posted it... so I just tried to think up another reason!

I'm going with the Shadow Temple theory.

Makes sense to me. But not everything in Zelda games get inspired from OoT you know.

well you may be right

I'm going with that hair color theory. Seems the most logical to me.

Yellow seems pretty cool instead of purple, but what does it represent?

If they made one of the Link's purple, then there must be something behind the colour that represents the purple Link.
