Re: Realistic OR Cel shaded
I prefer realistic graphics over cel shaded, but I may be biased because when WW came out I was expecting realistic graphics (as it was originally planned).
I don't much care for cel shaded graphics, but I can see how some would like them.

Re: Realistic OR Cel shaded
Realistic. Cel Shaded doesn't feel like zelda, feels (visually) like some little children's game.

Re: Realistic OR Cel shaded
I prefer cel shaded. Realistic graphics are more for the X-box 360 or the PS3, like 1st person games. Cel shaded graphics look more like a cartoon then real life, and I don't like playing games that are too life like.

Re: Realistic OR Cel shaded
i would have to say that i like them both. though if i had to choose, it would be cel shaded for me. though they both have there ups and downs.
Realistic with realistic you get well...realistic graphics. these graphics are most often used in more serious games, such as MM and TP. however, these graphics seem to also lead on that the game will be the best thing since sliced bread, in which is not always the case (ex (IMO) TP). Cel Shaded with cel shaded you get a seemingly less serious game, and often makes more use of humor. it works greatly in at least one game, WW. i say this because i know i wouldnt want to look at real looking water the whole time that im sailing. that would just annoy me greatly, and make me have to make regular stops to restroom, if you know what i mean. however, due to these less serious graphics, people automatically label the game as a "kiddy game". they also feel that it just doesnt look like a zelda game, i guess because it does not have as much of a serious tone. though i do feel WW had one of the deepest storylines, but i wont go into that. theres my opinion

Re: Realistic OR Cel shaded
Cel-shading for me.
Although i also like realistic graphics, i just prefer celshading graphics to anything else. Thats one of the reasons why i've played WW so much... but of course its the gameplay that matters the most in a video game. |

Re: Realistic OR Cel shaded
I like both. Cel shaded is fun and has more of a lighter mood. Realistic is really great too. Twilight Princess is amazing, I love those graphics. But some of the monsters are really scary.

Re: Realistic OR Cel shaded
I prefer realistic graphics since they give you a more real perspective of the game and also with Twilight Princess being as detailed as it is, it's easier to relate to the settings, people, etc.
Also I did like the expressions used in The Wind Waker, that being a Cel Shaded graphics game. |

Re: Realistic OR Cel shaded
Gotta love the realistic graphics.
Dont get me wrong I like Cel shaded but they only work good with games with a less serious mood to them. It allows for a good light hearted game. But I prefer realistic graphics.

Quote:
However, Wind Waker treaded into some great and dark territory with it's story and maintained that grim tone that I love about most Zelda games. And it's style didn't take away from that tone. Basically - a good, dark Zelda game can fit in with either style. I am not opposed to either style. I will say this: Wind Waker, visually, will hold up far longer than Twilight Princess. Wind Waker's visuals have longevity. |

Re: Realistic OR Cel shaded
Both bring great things to the Zelda universe and i enjoyed playing both styles equally. I wont lie, in heart of hearts i love the tradtional 'OoT looking' Graphics but i gave tWW a chance and loved the look of that one too. It's so colourfull and vibrant that brings a great atmoshpere to the game. This was perfect for tWW's sea setting and it was one msart move from Nintendo to do that for tWW, especially the carribean feel of Outset Is.

Re: Realistic OR Cel shaded
I prefere realistic because in my pinion they look better and the cell shaded graphics are pointed more towards little kids I think and also some of the best games have been done with realistic graphics not cell shaded. Also cell shaded makes the games look to chibish and with chibi style you cant get seriousness out of it and with realistic you can. And with realistic graphics, you can make a game look much darker where with cell shaded you cant do that
