Final Boss Hype
One of the most exiting parts of Zelda games now days is the part directly before the final battle. The part where, after completing many difficult tasks, you have made it. You confronted the big bad guy, and he fled to his lair. The sky darkens, the thunder and lightning flash and crack, and the destiny of all the world is resting on your sholders. This is what needs to be done, and you will do it.
You gota say, that kind of thing is epic, and really get's the exitment flowing. My question is, and the entire point of this thread, what Zelda game got you most pumped up for the final battle? Every game had their upsides, and many of them provided many things to egg you on, really enforcing that you are the last hope. But which one did you think was the best out of them? Disscuss! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Me, would probably be Wind Waker or Twilight Princess. With Wind Waker, the whole creepyness and granduere of Ganon's Castle, mixed with the knolage of being in a long-forgotten Kingdom buried under the sea... it really got to me. With Twilight Princess, it was the storm overhead, the huge castle looming ahead, and the help from all of your freinds you made throughout the game. It really made me feel the finality.

Re: Final Boss Hype
The Minish Cap.
Or possibly the fight with Zant. Vaati in the Minish Cap was superb to the point where you were salivating over your screen, with all the build-up, and form changes, and amazing storyline. Zant was amazing, because they did something new and went with a psychotic killer instead of an evil mastermind. The cutscene just before you fight him was... undescribably cool.

Re: Final Boss Hype
OoT, walking up the spiral stair to confront ganondorf and he's playing the huge organ (heh heh, YOU stfu!)
it's quite a memorable scene. plus the battle was REALLY cool. everything about it made sense. some zelda boss battles are a little random, like the boss goes into different forms or the battle goes ito stages that may be fun to do but make no relevant sense to the story line, know what i mean? (TP) I didn't see zant as a psychotic killer, but a whiney ***** who threw a tantrum cuz he didn't get what he wanted. and then they throw ganon in there for who knows what reason. arbitrary crap.

Re: Final Boss Hype
The Wind Waker's last battle was really epic. A young kid in a forgotten kingdom deep underneath the waves, knowing doom of the land or hope of winning looms ahead, and someone you have to save waiting for you. Then fighting while the kingdom is being sealed forever under a torrential downpour of ancient waters...unable to do anything.
I really feel the Wind Waker has the best dramatic feel. |

Re: Final Boss Hype
I think Twilight Princess did a good job with the weather effects and with Ganondorf waiting for you while surrounded by the broken Goddess statues, but OOT did it the best.
Ganondorf has manipulated Link for his own gain twice. He has ruled Hyrule for seven years, and if his plan succeeds, the world is forever doomed. You enter Ganondorf's fortress, lowering the tower's barrier as the six Sages stand behind you. Finally, you ascend the tower to confront Ganondorf as the organ theme tells you how much further you need to go. At last, you meet Ganondorf for the first time in seven years before the epic final battle.

Re: Final Boss Hype
I dont really have a favourite out of all the Zelda final bosses. There are all epic in their own way. I really enjoy doing the last battle and i find my self quite a lot going over to do the final boss again just for fun in any Zelda game.

Re: Final Boss Hype
I thought the build up to Ocarina of Time's final boss was just brilliant. Really atmospheric, with the dark brooding organ music.
It's the one that sticks in my mind the most, anyway.

Re: Final Boss Hype
yeah it's the creepy organ music and it gets louder as you approach, and the windows get... is it brighter or darker? anyeay, the atmosphere gradually changes as you approach, and the first time i beat it, the staircase seemed to go on forever! I was like, "dang! this is creepy"

Re: Final Boss Hype
It's really quite a tough choice between Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker.
That creepy organ music, I must say, is pretty phenomenal. I was totally taken back by the whole scene when I first played it. Plus, escaping the falling castle afterwards was really frantic and nerve-wracking for the first time ... and then gaining the knowledge that you're not even finished once you escape. |

Re: Final Boss Hype
I never liked the finish to OoT. It seemed so cliche.
"Oh noes! An evil villain is playing an organ in his cursed lair... Again."
