Official "How come in Zelda...?" thread

I would have imagined he is injected with nanomachines that break down everything for him so that he doesn't need to take a piss before the game begins, but this isn't Metal Gear, so I'm going to go with a spell that does the same damn thing.

heers a good one, WHERE does link put all of his gear when he isnt using it? i mean in TP hes got two clawshots, a bow, a quiver, THREE bomb bags, the spinner, TWO swords, TWO shields, THREE different tunics, two pairs of boots,a boomerang, the ball and chain(which is ******g huge), the dominion rod,FOUR bottles, a slingshot, the list goes on. it sometimes looks like hes just shoving it all up his a**.

And besides if zelda was designed to make perfect sense then we wouldn't have much to discuss.

How come in Zelda people actually know what buttons we have to press?

because they were programmed to know.

How come Link just shows a blank face expression when he carries his sword for the first time and faces an enemy for the first time? Surely a look of worry or even a slight pull of agression?

I know that he has courage, but c'mon!? Even when he is a little boy?

He feels incredibly confident because of his apparent talent of mastering any weapon he touches when he first lays his hands on it.

damn, I knew this would be the next one.


Perhaps, during the years before the adventure, he practices with bows, swords, and slingshots, and trains his balance and strength (spinner and ball and chain, respectively) so that, even for the items he hasn't already mastered, he would only need a few tries to get the hang of them and he's set. Plus, he has a guide with him in most of the 3d ones who can tell him what something does, so he can figure it out from there, and the claw/hookshot has similar controls to a bow, just doesn't do the same thing.

Ok, i have another one. Why has link been the only character in Zelda that was a mute? I know that the CDI Zeldas probably are the reason that Zelda only uses text for dailouge now, but still.

Because we are supposed to feel like we are Link, and giving him a voice would subtract from that feeling. This is also why his name is Link. The only thing more that they can do is to either allow us to make our own Link and/or give us the ability to control the story.

WHICH wouldn't neccasarily be a bad idea, but it would have to be concidered even more of an RPG.

If only 1 male is born every 100 years among the Gerudos, wouldn't that one male have to impregnate every female so that their childrens are young enough to have the next-gen male? And, if a male suddenly dies without reproducing that final time to have the male, say, if he was killed... or trapped in a mystical realm locked by 7 supernatural people to guard a magical triangle... then wouldn't they all die out, not having a male to reproduce to carry on the species? And don't give me a "magical sperm" answer...

There's am much simpler answer than "magic sperm."

You know, I used to think it change to pink when you get the last armor, too. But I started playing it again recently, and his hair is pink throughout the entire game.
