King: Spin. Besides it's really not that big a deal. You could just move so it's approaching from another direction.

Yes, you can swing your sword eouth-east. You need to turn east, because he swings only 90 degrees. (Also writing 90 degrees made me realise there is no degree mark on my keyboard). -__-

No, actually, you can't. When you face north, he swings northeast, when you face west, he swings northwest, when you face south he swings southwest, but when you face east, he swings northeast again.

EDIT:

What if I don't have enough time to charge a spin or move out of the way? Like I said, it's a gameplay thing. It can make fighting things a little more irritating then it should be.

How is an arrow cold enough to freeze things but it doesn't freeze the wood of Link's bow and damage it?

Ozzie: Since fire arrows are actually used in real life I'll just have to find someone to ask.

Re: Official "How come in Zelda...?" thread

Fire arrows are very impractical, though. They weren't used that commonly, only for sieges and destroying wooden buildings, and only became common in warfare when they could be filled with gunpowder. They were made so they would burn, but not explode. Some did explode, though, and basically became the first propelled explosive in europe.

Re: Official "How come in Zelda...?" thread

They could only use them for short distances, though. If the arrow gained altitude, the flame might go out. You'd have to reach a high altitude to shoot far distances, though. Also, the advent of the crossbow made fire arrows more popular, as they shot straighter and farther.

Re: Official "How come in Zelda...?" thread

Why bother shooting from far distances. They had horsemen so they could just perform a hit and run with flaming arrows.
