What did you think about Super Mario Galaxy dethroning Ocarina as top game ever?

I want a link to the information stating it dethroned it as the top game.

This was only for a short period, Ocarina of Time is still the top.

So who/what determined this? OOT was pretty amazing... then again, I haven't even beaten Mario Galaxy yet.

I dont get this. Was there some world wide survey asking people what they think of Mario Galaxy compared to OOT......... I dont think so. I'm not sure about who started this, but if a few people say Mario Galaxy is better than OOT it doesnt mean its official or true.(but i'm not saying Mario Galaxy is a bad game, i have it and i think it's brilliant).

Let's wait 10 years and see if we still remember Galaxy.

It's only been 5 and I've pretty much forgotten Sunshine (not that it was ever among Galaxy ranks... I still liked it.)

And where exists an Official best game of ALL time list. Reviewers can SAY it's the best, but that dosent mean it is.

Kinda like how the Bible is really the top selling book ever, but it's never on the best seller lists.

I would like some sources please of somewhere saying that it has officially been said that Galaxy beat OOT.

OoT has taken the throne back or something.

Anyway, this is so stupid. There is no top game ever.

And even if there were, OoT surely isn't worthy.

OoT is the top game ever based on 10 year old ratings when there were about a quarter of the amount of websites now. To still call it the best game ever is laughable (Not as an opinion, that's fine, but to say as a "fact" that OoT is top game). Really, it is. It makes you look so stupid. It isn't accurate anymore.

Anyway (this cake is great), I must say that I do greatly prefer SMG to OoT, and that SMG is infact my favorite game ever.

I don't think that Mario Galaxy IS the top game ever.

There have been other titles that have hit the world in high popularity. Games such as Mario 64, Halo, Diablo etc. Ocarina of Time was a game of gold, but it wasn't the greatest game ever released in history.

I don't think that there will ever be a game where it will rule above all games. People like different genres.
