I have a Question?

I am real new to Zelda, and I have never played Ocarina of Time. I have no Wii or any other nintendo gameing system(except a GBA). I was wondering if there was that I could play the game(ocarina of time) on maybe my PC or something?

Re: I have a Question?

I'm pretty sure there's no Ocarina of Time game for the PC. If you had bought the game cube like 5 or 6 years ago you could’ve got the whole Zelda pack, including Ocarina of Time, which included a whole bunch of other entertaining Zelda games. Other than the things you've already listed I'm 89% sure you can't get Ocarina of Time anywhere else. Sorry that I'm not much help.

You can actually play Ocarina of Time on your computer if you have an emulator downloaded from the internet.

Although, it might be illegal, it's the only way to play Zelda without any Nintendo console.

But I would prefer to play it on a Nintendo console than on your PC, because the quality is a lot better.

I actually do have an emulator. Do you know where I can get the ROM at?

Re: I have a Question?

The 24 hour rule is a lie. downloading roms of a game you do not own is illegal unless a company has permission to use the roms and you pay for them or they have permission to distribute as freeware.

Re: I have a Question?

Even if you could get it on the PC, it wouldn't give you the same experiance as playing it on a Wii, N64, or Gamecube.

really the only emulators that gives you a worse experience than the real consoles are the DS and GCN emulators, anything older than that, including the N64 are perfectly emulated and they work exactly as the real thing.
exept for the controllers.

Re: I have a Question?

ROMs are illegal. Why are we talking about them?

If you seriously want to play Ocarina of Time, but an N64, GCN, or Wii.

If you can't afford to do that, I reccomend tracking down A Link to the Past for your GBA instead.

Re: I have a Question?

WorriorPride, if you really intend on getting the most Zelda titles, you'll want to save up for the Wii, because it'll have every (canon) Zelda title that isn't on a portable, including the N64 ones. (They'll also be cheaper and longer-lasting on VC than online, I think.)

Roms are illegal. don't you guys get it. If you really like zelda give people credit for their work and buy the game. They should make a Zelda game about fighting the evil of online piracy.

This guy gets it. You should support the things you like. If everybody just played on emulators instead of buying the games, the whole industry would go bottom up.

Maybe after testing it on his computer he will love it so much he'll eventually buy it for the best expereince :p

But I love playing around with OOT using different texture packs, cheats (beta quest), and the debug rom !

Also, you can even find roms on Limewire, and, on a couple torrent sites I frequent, they have N64 packs which includes every 64 game made, and all versions. It's like over 4 GB I think.

ALSO, you won't get in trouble for downloading ROM's... just the people who upload them.

Re: I have a Question?

Okay, I have a few things to say.

First off, talking about ROM's or Emulators on this site is against the rules.

Second, Emulators can't keep up with consoles. If you are downloading a game as a ROM, chances are, you can't buy them in stores anyway.

Third, while ROM's are theoreticly illeagle, nothing is going to happen if you use them. The FBI is not going to come to your house and arrest you. Your computer is not going to crash if you don't delete it within 24 hours. Nothing wil happen.

Fourth, if you are looking for a good Emu site, trust google. You will find something.

Lastly, seince this discussion is against the rules, I suspect it will be locked soon, so I am leaving. Bye-bye.

Re: I have a Question?

Well, since I have a piece of crap laptop, I've never tried any emulators. But my opinion, if you really want to experience Zelda and why we love it, then save up and by the original games and consoles.

No ROMs here. No providing links to ROMs here. We abide by the law. What you do in your own time on google is your own business.
