Peter pan vs. link

Ok, my cousin says that nintendo just copied peter pan to make link. I, personally can't find any specific reason why he'd think that except for clothes style. Can you forum goers help me tell him why link ISN'T peter pan?

link isnt peter pan because he doesnt fly and he has a bigger sword and has a bunch of explody items.

I had a similar, sort of, experience. I wore a homemade Link costume to my schools Halloween dance and this girl kept calling me Peter Pan. The more I tried to explain the more she would do it and she got other kids to do it too.

He says "both are in love", "they both hunt, "both have friends", "i just saw that link has blue eyes and peter pan has blue eyes", "they copied theycopied", and bad reasons like that. Yeah. REALLY bed reasons.

if they got link from peter pan then they got zelda from ME! um........... NO

Did'nt Link already have that look before peter pan even came out? From the first Zelda? ...Or am I losing my mind......

But, seriosuly, didn't he already HAVE that look?

didn't Peter Pan was created like 9012357123485 years ago? well, even tough I don't think they are much alike, they look almost the same, and Kazuma, your friend is probably just trying to tease you a bit.

Both of them have fairies...
and in OoT they both come from a forest where they live persons who are kids forever. someone who doesn't know much about this can perfectly be confused.

Yeah, Petey has been around a while. The first film adaptation was in the 1920s I believe.

Similarities? Yeah, they are slightly similar. Though it is probably just coincidence.

"Peter Pan vs Link", because of this topic I looked up what it was that inspired Shigeru Miyamoto to create the Zelda games and this is what I found:

This is the link to the page I found in wikipedia:The Legend of Zelda (series) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, so Miyamoto didn't get Zelda of from Peter Pan, it was even argued that he may have got it (or most of it) from the movie "Legend" staring Tom Cruise,Legend (film) Information, I've seen the movie and it seemed more like Zelda that Peter Pan did so you can show your cusin these links if you want so they can understand where Zelda actually came from.

I saw legend years ago, but it really wasn't like LoZ from what I can recall.

The only 2 similarities i can find between peter pan and Link:

-Neverland and Kokiri Forest. Kids never grow up in either location.

-Both wear green tunics and tights.


other than that, there is completely NO relation whatsoever. Link is essentially just an elf-like warrior IMO.

I know it wasn't exactly like Zelda, I just ment that it had fairies, magical creatures, and weird looking enemies. Other than that it's as much like Zelda as muc as Peter Pan is (which isn't be much).
