Vote: other, with Princess Ruto in mind. She showed obvious feelings for Link, and they even got engaged through the Zora's Sapphire. I don't really understand why Link found her so annoying to be around. I guess because he never properly aged after 10 years old.

As for Zelda I would potray her as more self reliant rather than a damsel in distress. OOT Zelda has Sheikah skills so I don't see her as a damsel in distress as maybe TP Zelda might be.

Right. If just some generic fanfic villain and not Ganondorf would try to kidnap her, he'd get his ass kicked. I mean, she was able to hide from Ganondorf for seven years and I doubt she never was attacked by his minions. (And didn't she try to fight Bongo Bongo?)
Even TP Zelda has some fighting skills. She can wield a bow and I suppose she has some skills with the sword too, maybe just not as good as with the bow, since she has a sword, but never uses it.

Maybe he found her annoying for her attitude in the beginning. I like her, but I suppose, if I were Link, I would be a bit annoyed too.

YES for Link/Ruto.

I don't know why nobody sees the cuteness of that pairing. Remember this is Zelda we're talking about, in which nobody ever admits romantic feelings. Ruto tells Link she loves him--that's just about as canon as it gets.

I usually find Link more suited to be with the sort of bossy, outspoken persona. Link is naturally super sweet and shy and obedient, and I think that someone outgoing just suits him best. Most people bash that sort of couple ("Noooo, she'd eat Link alive!") but I think it's cute. Ruto is actually a good person who genuinely loves him. She's just a little more forward with showing her affection.

Even though I have to disagree with your characterization of Link, I also think they'd be a very cute couple. I think people dislike it because of Ruto's looks. I mean, everyone loves Midna and especially in the beginning she isn't better than Ruto, but if it comes to Ruto she's so annoying. It just makes no sense, so the only explanation I can think of is really that it's her looks.

That makes sense. Ruto and Midna do have similar personalities and I think both go well with Link, but it's easier to support Link/Midna because you actually see her in an attractive, very human-like form at the end, whereas Ruto is still a "fish."

Exactly. Zoras are human enough. I mean, I'm not sure if Zoras and humans could have babies or anything, but with Link (I hope!) we don't really have to worry about that....

Yeah. But I find it a bit sad that the only difference that makes people like Midna and LinkMidna but not Ruto and LinkRuto is the looks. Besides, Adult Ruto is kinda pretty I think.

Seriously, it's just stupid. This already shows that humans don't think Zoras are ugly and unattractive and I'd think that Link wouldn't just think about the looks, but also about the personality before choosing to go out with someone. And Ruto may be bossy, but she also had the courage and kindness in her to go into the Water Temple to save her people and I doubt that she would have been chosen to becomea sage if she were such a bad person as people make her out to be.

I have no problem with the whole sweet and shy nice guy Link with the more dominant and bossy Ruto being a cute couple and all but the offspring from such a pairing would be totally weird.

Well, as long as he has the mask to transform into Mikau and uses it during sex, the babies could look like normal Zoras. Or maybe a bit prettier, since they would have a pretty mother and a handsome father.

I would totally vote, but my opinion depends on the circumstances.
I've always been a bit of a Zelinker, and that's probably my main ship.
However, after the final cutscene of Twilight Princess, I decided I liked MidnaLink after all.
In OoT, I think Sarilink is cute, but I can't think of a way for it to work out, so when I write Sarilink it ends up very sad because Saria ia all alone.
Again I like Zelink, but I'm also a fan of Malink, as Malon is sweet. I've never been much for Ruto, but that's mostly because she gave a very bad first impression from which her later actions didn't redeem her in my mind. If it weren't for that, I would probably like it very much.

Now I'm torn between saying "You're mean!" and "Cool."
But now I'm wondering if putting on the mask would really help. Wouldn't their children still get Link's genes? On the other side, to transform his whole body has to change (and it seems kinda painful too...) so maybe he'd be a real Zora as long as he wears the mask.

I'm not real sure on how the genetics would work on that one, but I remember reading a theory that the reason the TP Zoras have more human like features in contrast to the OOT Zoras are a result of Link ending up with Ruto in the Child Timeline.

That's interesting. But not all Zoras would descend of Link, would they? I mean, he's only one person, he shouldn't be able to change the appearance of a whole race. I could see Rutela being his descandent though, especially because she and Ralis look pretty different from the other Zoras (she almost looks likie she has blond hair...), but on the other side, members of the royal family seem to always look different and MM shows that normal Zoras don't have only one look. And the Gorons also changed very much...

Wow. Before reading this I never even considered Ruto & Link together. But after reading these recent posts, i'm willing to change my opinion abit. Not that I really have one. I'm just a typical ZeLink fan. Nothing special. XD

Yeah..this LinkxRuto theory is based on Rutela and Ralis being the direct descendents primarily. For me personally I don't support this theory as much as I support the theory that TP Link is coincidentally the same humble hero riding around with Epona living a humble lifestyle the way I want OOT/MM Link to be. Its just my personal preference for TP Link to be descended from LinkxMalon of course.

That certainly a possibility, but, contrary to popular belief, I think it would be even possible for him to be a descendent from Link and Zelda. Since princes and princesses oftewn marry for political reasons instead of romantic ones and often have mistresses, one of OoT Links descendends could have had an offspring from such a relationship with the eventual result of having TP Zelda as a direct descended with purely royally ancestors and TP Link as a direct descendent with common people as parents. By that time, Link and Zelda would have practically no blood ties to each other anyway, so that wouldn't be a problem in a theoretical, romantic relationship. Having him as a descendent of Link Malon would certainly be less complicated though.

Normally I'd say Zelda or Malon but Princess Ruto likes him so much, he should just pick her. These days it's hard to find loyalty in relationships. LOL
