I mean, the guy doesn't even have a real face in the game. How is he hot? And even Shadow Link in the FSA Manga isn't hot, but cute. And adorable. But not hot, he looks like a kid, just like the rest of the Links.

I think if I were to write a Zelda fanfic I would have no problem potraying Zelda to be consistent with the game. But with Link, I'm torn between potraying him as the kind & gentle obedient sweetheart from the game itself or make him more like a traditional manly hero like a Kratos from God of War.

I don't doubt that. But unfotunately many fanfic writers seem to think that they either have to make her the
- classic damsel in distress who can't do anything without Link (which is not the case at all, since their dependency is a mutual one) or
- bash her character by portraying her as a ***** or
- use her as a plot device which results in either bashing her or, in the best case, makes her a "harmless" case of being OoC
- and surely some other stuff I forgot to list or haven't encountered yet.

Make him a mix of both... or just use Raven as a reference.

You're thinking too much here. We dont need to get technical about this, I mean come on we're talking about a video game not physics. We're only speculating on what relationships would work, and I just think Link and Dark Link would go well together.

But Dark Link doesn't even have a personality! How would he go well with anyone? I mean, if you'd say FSA Manga Shadow LinkxGreen or FSA Manga Shadow LinkxVio I could understand it, since he has a personality in the Manga and all, but the normal game Dark Link?

We know they're just video game characters. Believe me, I used to think like you. But after being in this thread too many times, I have be technical with these things.

Can I please ask why everyone loves Dark Link so much? Like Yayu and Goron Moron said, he has no personality! He's just a shadow! He doesn't say anything or do anything awesome! He wasn't even that hard to beat (I used my Megaton Hammer)! So why is everyone all obsessed with him? And what in the world makes you think he should go with Link?! Even if he did have a personality, I'd think of him either as a metaphorical part of Link himself or maybe the "evil twin" archetype. But a romantic relationship? I just don't understand it.

The fanart of him, which doesn't even look like him in most cases, is hot. And he's evil. And not just some evil guy, but Link's dark side. And did I already mention that the fanart is hot?
It would make more sense, if they were obsessed with FSA's Shadow Link, since the Manga version of him is adorable and has personality. But plain old Dark Link? I really have never seen other reasons than the ones above.

People think "Opposites attract" and "Dark Link is Link's evil side" and connect the two. No one cares that it's never gonna be a healthy, working relationship as long as it's hot.

I'm sure some people don't think like that, but the great majority does seem to do that.

If you're speaking from personal experience well...but as everyone has said, since Dark Link is just a shadow representation of Link's dark side it can only be a self love relationship of Link touching whats beneath those virgin white tights.

Thats a good idea. As for Zelda I would potray her as more self reliant rather than a damsel in distress. OOT Zelda has Sheikah skills so I don't see her as a damsel in distress as maybe TP Zelda might be. But even TP Zelda seems to be self reliant despite her being more similar to the cliche stereotype of the princess that needs saving. In relation to Link, OOT Zelda seems that she would be at least a close friend to Link where TP Zelda seems more as just a formal aquaintance

Probably like some friends of mine, who are obsessed with yaoi. I swear, with the amount of attempts they've made at trying to get me to look at or read their "definitely NOT R-rated" stuff, I sometimes can't believe I still hang out with them! It's mainly because all my other friends tend to get boring more quickly.
