The Romance Thread IV: The Debate Continues

Which one do you think is more creepier, OOT LinkxGanon, WW LinkxGanon, or TP LinkxGanon??

Well, I'd say WW LinkGanon, since he's a kid, Ganon kidnapped his sister and later on Tetra and the kingdom of his ancestors was destroyed because of Ganondorf.
OoT LinkGanon is also pretty creepy, since he's a kid/a kid in an adult's body and all the suffering he saw that was caused by Ganondorf.
The best possibility is probably TP LinkGanon, since some of the bad things that happened to Hyrule could be Zant's doing - sure, he's only Ganondorf's henchman, but I suppose he had some freedom in deciding what to do about certain problems - and their fight didn't seem as personal as in the other two games.

I can't see TP Link x Ganondorf working at all, because Ganondorf pretty much stayed locked up in the Hyrule Castle for what would seem to be the entire game and went to try to kick Link's ass as soon as Link had arrived.

At least OoT Ganondorf wasn't cooped up in some castle forever. Please don't correct me, I don't want to be spoiled.

Not in the least. I use to make a habit of looking for romance Zelda fics, and found many lemons by chance.

Okay so basically Dark Link is literally his shadow. How does that make sense in a pairing?

I don't think I'm gonna read it, I was just curious. And now it scares me.

I just thought it would work the best, because they have not as much of a personal grudge against each other as the other two. I don't think a romance could develop between them in OoT or WW, their relationship would be completely based of hatred and maybe the wish to take revenge. But I still doubt they'd have a real, functional, romantic relationship.

They're not opposites. The OoT Dark Link is just some creature that mirrors it's opponent (not a real person). I can't remember how exactly it was with FSA's Shadow Link. Besides, it would be like Link being together with himself - or better, his own shadow - and I doubt that Link is that narcisstic. They're also enemies, so I doubt they'd develop a real romantic relationship.

Well Link being controlled by his dark side and masturbating a lot seems a little bizarre don't you think?? But I guess I can't prove you wrong since its just another theory pairing anyway.

True. But at least in OoT, they interacted.... more. And that's also way people write AU fics.

I just think that their interaction would be the reason, why they wouldn't develop any romantic feelings, since their fight seemed somehow more personal imo.

True. The only problem I have with AU fics is that they tend to be very OoC.

It's obviously OoT/MM Link X Skullkid. That's why they're "friends"

and there was a platonic love in that game too. Tingle loved Link, but he didn't love him back.

So that's why he helps WW Link. WW Link reminds Tingle of his first platonic love. So WW Link X Tingle.

I'm pretty sure WW didn't really show heavy signs of Tingle loving Link in that kind of way.

It was more that Tingle was a fan of Link, because he seemed to be more of a fairy than Tingle was.

'Not neccesarily. I've seen some pretty IC romance fics, but the bad ones are, unfortunately, far more. That's one of the reasons why I don't read as much fanfics as I used to, since in many of them the only thing the characters have in common with the original is the name (and sometimes not even that...).
But I've seen even less IC fics that are AU than I have in other genres, especially if it's one of those dreaded Highschool fics or some cliché Vampire fics. It's just far morre difficult to make the character behave like himself without it becoming illogical when it's AU, since you have to think of good reasons that work in your universe to make sense of the characters actions, while you don't have that problem with a fic in the original universe.
