Hehe I was just kidding when I said Malon was a dumb country girl. But it seems that the anti Malon faction feels this way about her. Realistically I feel the same way as you do. As for Link, the manga seems to have Link with a personality thats more easier to identify with where the in game Link seems to have a weird fetish for blindly following orders. I figured since OOT Link has the heart and mind of an emotionally fragile social outcast forest child, helping random strangers seemed to help him cope with his inherent loneliness in some way. TP Link just seems to be the genuine nice guy who naturally lets people walk all over him. Especially Illia

Huh. It's pretty stupid of them to say something like this about Malon, there's nothing that would support her being dumb. Hell, I don't even like Malon all that much and hate it when people talk like that. Characterbashing is one of the things that can make me really angry, because it's always so baseless.
As for Link's personality, your interpretation does hold ground, but he'd probably grow out of that kind of behavior after a while, even though he'd still be helpful person.

It's just my way of thinking and my theory. We'll have to ask Shigeru if he even made a scheme like that...

The problem is, people are taking it seriously. I have nothing against a good joke, but if someone calls me a dumb, ugly bi*** for liking a certain character who'd be just that it is... really annoying to say the least.

After a while of interacting with people who don't shun him, I think he would get a bit more stable and content. He's also a child, so I doubt he's already interested in girls in a romntic way, especially because of his emotional state.

I actually fangirl more over Zelda (or Raven, but he's a Manga-only character). And people don't just insult you shipping someone, they even do it for just liking a character they dislike. Fortunately it's not that bad in the Zeldafandom, Naruto (and also Inuyasha I think) is worse.

Well, since we seem to agree mostly about Zelda against Malon/Ilia/Midna, what other girl do you think would fit with Link? For TP link I kinda like Ashei and I think Ruto isn't as bad as some think, but she still has the smallest chance from the three girls of his age imo.

In OOT I like Link with either Malon, Zelda, Nabooru, and the Cucco lady. LinkxRuto seems a little too weird for my tastes but I still like it better than LinkxSaria for sure. In TP I like Link with either Midna, Zelda, Ashi, Hena, or even Telma. I'm not that crazy for LinkxIllia but I accept that it is a definite romantic possibility. WW Link as a matured adult of course seems destined for Tetra/Zelda but I like Link paired up with the jar girl and the bird girl Medi despite it being a weird pairing.

Interesting pairings
LinkNabooru sounds like something I'd like to read about maybe I should try it. I don't know about the Cucco lady, I always have Anju in my head when I see her, even though they're not the same person. And LinkRuto is weird. But that never really stopped me from liking something, and I find the pairing funny.
I agree with your pairings for TP Link; except maybe LinkTelma. But it'd certainly be fun to read about (If it isn't to serious. I can't picture them being together in an angsty drama sort of story.)
WW Link doesn't have to many choices, but him and the jar girl is kinda cute.

I have never written a Zelda fanfic before but if I did LinkxNabooru would be a top 3 choice. Once I get my serious fiction stuff written and copyrighted I might take a crack at writing my first Zelda fanfic. But I'm undecided on which Link pairing I should write first. Man that sounds so nerdy.

If I ever get around to write a Zeldafanfiction that isn't a crappy oneshot that only exists because I was bored it probably would about Flat and Sharp and maybe Igos du Ikana. And it would be angsty and dramatic, with brotherly love and loyalty and absolutely no romance

Once I get my serious fiction stuff written and copyrighted I might take a crack at writing my first Zelda fanfic.

I have various original brainstorms on sci fi and fantasy that is currently a working progress. Nothing really concrete at the moment. But if I did write a LinkxNabooru the basic plot would be Link assuming the life as a gerudo thief with Nabooru being his comrade in arms/romantic lover. It would be the classic cougar older woman with her boy toy romance.

I'm opened minded so I say go for it on the LinkxGanon. Is it based on OOT or TP? Just curious.

About the sky scene... I don't think he was madly in love, since he was still a child in an adult body at that time, except if the aging process somehow affected his mind. But I see the possibility that he had some feelings for her, since I always found the atmosphere pretty romantic.

Nabooro would be a good one, I didn't think of that. And yesterday, I beat the Spirit Temple for a hundredth time, and she said "If I only knew you would become such a handsome young man...". And I still overlooked that.

But I think Link wouldn't be so interested in her. I don't know, I just put myself in Link's position and I always return to Malon. Maaaaaybe Anju, if her family was a bit more normal.

Dear lord I jumped into this thing late... so I will start with my thoughts which is that it depends on which game.

However lately I have hit a snag in my love of Zelda/Link in OoT (I even drew a picture of them!) which is this: In TP it is my personal cannon, not theorist cannon however that that the Link in that game came from the Link and Malon in OoT shacking up long, long ago. And realized something: I kinda am okay with that. I mean Malon Link sounds like the kind of couple that would settle down together, but after a while and maybe a kid Link would get wandering legs and Malon, although a little worried would be okay with it, as she knows that he has to go off and save people. And she seems like she would make such a caring mother.

But then the Zelda/Link in that game is just epic! I mean she dreams about him before she sees him, and he obviously falls in love the second he sees her and then dedicates his life to protecting her and her people. And then she seems to care about him as well, going so far as to risk her own cover to help him in his quest (something that she really didn't have to do, other people could of told Link what was what).

Which means that I ship both Zelda/Link and Malon/Link in OoT.... I think I may need help. Ugh. Must learn to be a angry shipper.

Also in TP I ship Link/Minda as he has no contact with Zelda almost at all.

I generally agree with what you posted. Especially in reference to Malon. But I think Link meeting Zelda for the first time and wanting to help her had more to do with the death of the Deku Tree than him actually being in love with her. Remember Link is just 10 years old so I doubt he was having these type of feelings. But I agree 100% that OOT Zelda deeply cared for Link without a doubt, but the special and tender hearted Zelink moments seemed to mean a lot more to Zelda than they did to Link IMO. Whether as a child or as an adult, Link would just quietly stand there looking at Zelda with a blank and oblivious stare and simply did as he was told. IMO OOT Link's interractions with Zelda seemed to have him be more like an emotionally attached child than a suave romantic Romeo type. But I think that Link’s emotional attachment to Zelda could become romance in a more traditional sense as normally matured adults in the Child Timeline, but I just prefer Link to settle down with Malon thats all.
