Also, as long as we’re on the subject, considering that the Hylians seem to have the most advanced and complicated way of life of all the races, I think Zelda would cause the most problems for Link, as far as adjusting to her way of Life.

I'd have to say midna hands down. Why? because its always zelda this zelda that, and because of that, that person has worked themselves into a mindset.

^ He was engaged to Ruto, but she knew that with her being in the Sacred Realm protecting Hyrule as much as he was, there wouldn't be much time for them to have romantic affairs or to even be married with each other. And I don't think that Link would have accepted her anyway.

Oh yeah I agree believe it or not and I think its possible that Link would go for Ruto because maybe he would have less responsibility in the Zora domain and maybe he feels Ruto won't keep that tight of a leash on him as Zelda would. In the Zora domain all I can only see is Link being used for animal breeding purposes to spawn half Hylian/Zora children with Ruto, which is very weird but interesting at the same time. But before I get flamed by ZE Link shippers I will just say Since its Legend of Zelda I guess Link has to eventually end up with Zelda right??

Man, Ganonslayer, pick a side already! First it's Malon then Ruto now Zelda? You're kinda inconsistant... Not that I disagree with your last argument, but I "flame" you anyways

The events that lead to Ruto becoming a sage and having to remain in the Sacred Realm occur in a completely separate timeline than the one in which Link lives out the rest of his life. In his timeline, Ganondorf never comes to power, and thus the people who would have become sages in the alternate future are able to live normal lives. With this in mind, it certainly becomes possible for a relationship to occur. The same is true for any of the other female sages, as well. You’re free to like whatever pairing you wish, and I certainly won’t try to change your mind if you happen to think that “Link wouldn’t have accepted her,” but it is important to remember the facts when making an argument.

I wouldn't say Link would not accept her, but based on what I saw from OOT, Link seems totally clueless and way too intimidated by Ruto if you ask me. But if Link did accept Ruto over Zelda and Malon what would be his purpose or responsibility other than Ruto telling him what to do?? Could this theoretical relationship be a long term marriage like Zelda and Malon?

Actually, maybe its best Link doesn't marry anyone at all.

That sounds good to me. I only said marriage with Zelda and Malon because it seems to be implied a lot. I personally have no problem with Link being the unattached bachelor keeping his options open.

Same here. The IlliaxLink pairing is not as strong as a Midna or Zelda pairing in TP IMO. Even if Zelda was not developed enough. LinkxIllia = Brother/Sister relationship.

Ugh, you just reminded me of the infamous fanfic, "My Master's Touch."

I would say Zelda because she's in every video game with Link, and they kind of hit it on whenever they meet like they're lovers always helping each other out. I even think they should get married in a future Zelda game and then it can be Zelda: The Future of Hyrule. That would be awesome and maybe sometime before, there can be a Zelda: Age of Ganondorf, where since the past heroes (Sages in OoT, and Midna in TP and others in other Zelda games.) couldn't beat Ganondorf so Link intervenes with Zelda and you get to be two people, one person is Zelda while another is Link. Finally you can be Zelda! Her weapon would be bow and arrows, due to the usage of them in TP.

I doubt it; fan fiction, particularly that of a sexual nature, is often a parade of the most bizarre fetishes in the fandom. Take Harry Potter, for instance, who's probably been paired with every animate and inanimate person or object in existence.
