The pre-hero lives of link

i got to thinking about this while writing in another thread. i started listing all the different backgrounds of the various links...
LOZ: i have no idea, he was just there
AOL: same
ALTTP: nephew of old knight of hyrule
LA: i can't remember
OOT: forest child
MM: slightly less innocent forest child, fish out of water
OOA/OOS: don't remember
WW: young boy in a marine/island community
FS: I don't know
MC: blacksmith son (was it son?)
TP: goat herder
PH: same as WW, i'm assuming...

so as you can see, there are a few links whose history either i don't know, or are not really explained. so if any of you want to add you knowledge and/or speculation, discuss! and maybe tell your favorite.

personally, my favorite link is the TP link. even though i've had some problems with the TP story line, i loved how you get to herd the goats in the beginning. it's mostly a pointless plot device, and a little horseback tutorial, but, (at least to me) it made me really feel connected to link as a person. a simple goat herder's apprentice, and role model to all the children in the village, with a hot best friend it felt believable.

so what do you think?

I think LA Link has the same background as ALttP Link. I've heard they are the same Link.

TMC Link is the blacksmith's grandson.

My favorite is probably TP Link for pretty much the same reason. Though, if it was Ilia you said was hot, that's stretching it a bit (especially since she is a video game character).

i've had a "crush" on link since OOT adult link. link in TP is really "sexy" (i don't really get hot for him, but i recognize he's good-looking). he's got nice muscles
and Ilia is hot, too. except she wishes epona was hers. I was like, "B***ch, get away from my horse, she's mine!"

I vaguely remember hearing somewhere that LoZ/AoL Link was a hunter, but I could be wrong on that one.

My fav is Hero-of-Time Link. He didn't have much in terms of family, but he "made one" in the Sages and people of Hyrule and Termina. That made me as a player feel more attached to the people.

Well AoL Link is the same as LoZ, so he was a former hero and farmer I believe. He just came back when they needed someone to save the new Zelda.

link's like "excuuuuuuuse me princess, but don't i at least get a little action for, like, saving your life and stuff?"

Although she died, the OoT Link had a mother, besides that what I know is pretty much what everyone else has said.

In OoS and OoA, according to the Manga Link is a farmboy there as well, and in FSA Link is a soldier/knight/swordsman.

Well I wouloud say my favorite link is OOt...and TP link why? Well I would say its beacuse its the same link,or are they not sure hope some one can justify that for me..

They are not the same Link. TP is parallel to TWW (stated by Aonuma, himself). Since TWW is 100s of years after OoT in the Adult Timeline, TP is 100s of years after the Child Timeline. Link can't live that long, he has the ToC, not the ToP.

Plus TP talks about the Hero of old, which is most likely OoT Link.
