Has anyone else noticed this?

Has anyone else noticed the similarities between this statue in the water temple and the light spirit, Lanayru? Im sorry I cannot provide a better screenshot of Lanayru's face (which if anyone can get for me, please do). The statue and Lanayru look strikingly similair, and very importantly, there is a crystal switch in the statues mouth, just like the light orb that Lanayru carries in its mouth. I suppose many other people have noticed this before, discuss?

I noticed that too, maybe the statue is Lanayru. Go to your TP map and see what province Lake Hylias in. I've gotta hunch.......

Re: Has anyone else noticed this?

I've actually seen that a few times. I got curious but I didn't get in major discussion within this topic. Well in OoT that orb isn't really the same or whatever from TP lanayaru because it's part of the dungeon. You hit it then the gate opens. As for TP it's just the Godesses light. Without the light the area that sorounds the goddesses will fall into twilight. Two different things. I don't think that nintendo thinks that far into there plotlines...

Just because they serve a different purpose does not mean that they instantly have no connection. Heres a question to ask yourself. Why create a statue that is the same creature as the light spirit, and then add something that lights up inside the statues mouth, also just like the light spirit? And then there is the fact that Lanayru is the spirit that dwells very closely to lake hylia, and protects that area. It is also mentioned by locals in castle town in Twilight Princess as being a place for people to visit - they had knowledge of the spirit.

Statues are created to represent dieties in temples. Lanayru is a Deity that is worthy of worship, and the statue looks to similair to Lanayru to overlook, along with the other connections I mentioned.

Re: Has anyone else noticed this?

They may have based Lanayru off of those statues, but then again, maybe not.

There is one point in twilight princess where you see a close up of the Spirit's face. When I saw that, I was far more convinced that Lanayru was designed to represent that (those) statues in the temple, or that at least that while nintendo was creating Ocarina Of Time, Nintendo was playing around with future concepts like this which they could pick up on later.

Re: Has anyone else noticed this?

This is why I love the Zelda series so much. There's so many references to each other in all the games, it's hard to tell if they're intentional for plot purposes, or just little easter eggs.

It's so fun and nostalgic.

Re: Has anyone else noticed this?

Oh yes... they look similar, but it must to be a coincidence, I don't think that the statue is the same Lanayru's. Maybe the creators use the image to perform a better figure of Lanayru's face, but for me, for me, for me..... it can't be the same. Zelda ROCKS people.

The statue is in the water temple. Lanayru is after the Lakebed Temple. Thats Cool.

Re: Has anyone else noticed this?

It's very cool that such similarities can be found... however, I call this a coïncedence. The only way to proof it 100 percent is to refer to something that Nintendo said. I don't think of this theory as obvious, I think it's somewhat far-fetched.

That's what I thought when I saw the pictures. A very interesting find.

Re: Has anyone else noticed this?

There are similarities between Lanayru and the statue in the Water Temple, but not enough to make a definite decision if they are the same or not. Just need a clearer picture of Lanayru to see if they are the same close up or not.
