Re: 'The Legend of Zelda' - movie.

Uh-huh, so in fifteen years or so we see a Legend of Zelda film by a "Fergus Robinson", we'll remember every little thing you told us, and won't see the movie?

Re: 'The Legend of Zelda' - movie.

Hopefully not! =D
Regardless of that, I have no doubt that no matter what i say,
Theres always going to be some to tell me "thats just not right - you should do this" , I don't think i can be bothered with that, as inevitably, if I do make it that far, It'll be my decision what goes, or doesn't go in.

Re: 'The Legend of Zelda' - movie.

I mean this respectfully, super-fergus, but there is no such thing as pleasing everyone, especially "super-hardcore-die-hard" Zelda fans. Those are the most difficult to please. I don't really need to make that much of an example out of the new Star Wars trilogy, either.

But I want to hear more information on the film. Is it going to be mostly live-action, or will some of it be CG? If some of it will be CG, which parts?

Re: 'The Legend of Zelda' - movie.

Love_of_Zelda - Precisely my point! I can't please everyone. That is why I won't mention my ideas, of the plot. As i said, I'm open to discuss and debate other peoples ideas and views. If I think they're valid enough, I might just take them into account.

As for your question - It would be Live action, for what can be done through it. Beasts, monsters, Gorons, etc would be CGI. Stunts that may be too dangerous for Live action, or unlikely possible, probably would be CG.

There's plenty things I'm not going to mention though.
Not exactly because I think people will steal them, but
what is there to look forward to if you knew it?

Hahaha, trust me... we won't be seeing Link travel through temple after temple, hahaha.
Well go ahead and share some ideas. Besides maybe Raian, the rest of us have no clue what the hell it's about.

Just tell the whole damn story, from 1-3. What's stopping you? Nobody is going to take your idea.

Re: 'The Legend of Zelda' - movie.

Sorry to say, but the rights for a Zelda movie have already been taken. This man has been working for the rights for over seven years now.

Zelda Planet - ...And Zelda for all!

So, you'll have to ask this guy.

Well, for a start... I haven't finished it.
I'm making pieces, and they aren't even in place yet.
If it's going to be the definitive zelda movie, it better be dam good, Thats why I'm starting now, rather than until I reckon i can make it.
So I can't tell you from 1-3, but i can answer some questions if you ask. =)

On the off side, to bring to thought, I know a guy that was offered to direct the Devil May Cry film, and he isn't even that successful. The producers ran out of money to come up with a script, and the director I know didn't want to write it without pay. - That's Devil May Cry for goodness sake! and yes, officially.

Haha! This man doesn't have the rights!
This man tried to make this into a animation, and failed.
If there was a real zelda film in progress, I'd know about it.
And that doesn't Include BMB's film either.

Do you have the plot down? Like that's the main point of the film? If you do, tell us. Does Link fight Ganon in the first one, or the second? Give us a summary of it.

Oh...

I thought it would be a break from the normal, but your plot was just as I expected it...

I don't really care about your opinion, all your other opinions have been nothing but dogmatic.

One of many factors that I can play with.

Firstly I'm writing this, yes as 3 parts, But I do need to take into consideration that i may be told to pack it into one, or two. I might also be told i could develop it in a 'two step' idea, Like the spider-man and pirates films were. If the first one was successful, I could make more, basically.

So for the moment I'm trying to write it as if i could make all 3, without any hassle, with that in mind. If in the end I do have to change it, well at least I did my best and will have to compromise.

The first part really deals with how Link becomes titled a 'hero',
The introduction of characters,Including Links rival Gorons, and Zelda. How Ganondorf steals the throne, and in the end, tries to get the triforce, but of course, he only gets the one piece, though it's not that clear.

The second continues on. Link finds himself waking far from Where he last fought, possibly the zora's domain, and noticing he has a triangular shaped splinter in his hand. He shortly gets on track in search of this mythic weapon, the 'master sword' and uncovers a dark history, He quickly discovers Ganondorf is still alive and is hunting him for the remaining piece of the triforce. Link's rival soon spirals downwards after He is tortured to aid Ganondorf in the hunt for Link. Ganondorf uses him, and to the fan based audience will reckonise him as "dark Link" . After finding the master sword, he is on his way back - To ganon's tower!!

Part three, the final chapter. On his way back, he discovers that Ganondorf is planning a final attack, an annliation of the rest of Hyrule as he encounters a gathering army in the desert. Link returns , only to find the green and peaceful land he left, has become a increasing mass of darkness. Things have changed. Link Convinces the races around the land, empty of hope, to stand up and tackle this evil. With each race's advantages, They begin a strategic plan to win over the numbers. Eventually, Link is confronted by 'Dark Link' who fight. Link pleads to him, but it seems it falls on deaf ears. Dark Link is wounded and is left alone as Link continues his plot. Zelda makes her way underground as she frees the prisoners from Ganons dungeon. Link makes his way up the tower, Ganon talks about his views and past, the breath before plunge. The duel, Link some what succeeds, but Ganondorf gets his hands on all three pieces, wishing to become a god, thus 'Ganon'. The battle against this god pursues in the city of Hyrule, being chased as Link gallops from the falling buildings , eventually link wins, of course, the rest you might predict.
Link is no longer content with the Land and sets off into the distance.

There is so much I have chosen not to tell, but I hope that may see some views. I hope you like the structure.
Uh, does the first one end with a cliff-hanger ending? That's a big "no" in this case. I'd write a fanfic first, see what people say about it, then adapt it into screenplay format.

Re: 'The Legend of Zelda' - movie.

I meant no offence (and it's rather rude to use such a word as "dogmatic"), but don't you think that the plot contains a lot that the fans would expect?

And if you don't want people's opinions, then close the thread.

I'm just even less than skimming through it, There is plenty of elements that I haven't stated, that will defiantly relate to a mass audience. This is but a fraction of what I have already written, and even then, I have a lot more to do.
You need to try and imagine the bigger picture.

You really can't really decide yet. As i said, you should take into account that there is a lot that hasn't been put in, that could in other words change your mind, but i guess I'll just have to wait until it's finished!

I don't mind opinions, as long as they have context.
There is no way to yet say 'this is what you expected' when - .. Read above, I'm not repeating.

I agree with Johnny, a fanfic might help to see if people would like the overall idea.

Heh, as much as I'm eager to show you my ideas, I simply can't.
Humor my moral for this project where I can't tell you.

I apologize for calling you dogmatic.
